Commercial Description:
Blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old lambic. Fermented and lagered in oak vessels. In this bottle the young yeast is brought to sleep ('ingedoesjeld') so the original lambic flavors are preserved. This beer has no head, just like lambic. The lambic is brewed with 60% barley, 40% wheat, last years hop

Very lovely light honey yellow color pour with not a sign of head or carbonation. Nose is sharp and tart. Tart grapes, apple juice, some leathery funk and oak burried beneath the tart overtones. Flavor is much of the same, tart and grapey/appley with some nice dry wood tones. Ends dry and clean. Body is a little beefier than a lot of gueuzes. My only complaint is the total lack of carbonation. A little fizz would add a lot to this delicious beer.

Bottle at tasting at Chris Fischer’s (from Liars Club) house. Pours with a deep golden body topped by a thin head with a little lacing left behind. It’s sour and tart with a touch of underlying sweetness and a nice funk. Light bodied, crisp and dry.

375 ml corked and caged green bottle poured a clear golden amber with no head (still). Aromas of sour citrus, mustiness, wood and light vinegar. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. sour citrus, straw, light wood and hints of mustiness with a crisp dry lingering tart finish.

37.5cl bottle @Vero Beach Throwdown-pours no head and hazy gold color. Aroma is musty, vinegar/sour, medium malt. Taste is very dry, musty, vinegar/sour/tart, light fruit-lemon, medium malt, pungent. Occasional. Courtesy hopscotch-thanks Eric.

Bottle. Another solid lambic brew from 3 Fonteinen. Was excited to find this. More on the mellow side with not as much thick body, this one is rather refreshing. Almost smooth to a point! Lemons, oranges, funk, and sour are all present, yet mildly blended together so well! Definitely hope to score another at some point!

Bottle. Pours medium orange brown. Gueuzy sour funk lambic that has a great mouthwatering aroma of brett. This was a great pick up.

Pour was hazy golden to amber in color, the pour deceptively revealing carbonation, although it didn’t really come through in the mouthfeel much at all. Aroma was funk, hoseblankets, leather, light oak. The flavor was all of that, but it wasn’t much sour/tart overkill like others of its style, and spicey notes were all behind the funk. Some apples and grapes were mixed in, but I didn’t find this to be one of the more complex lambic/gueuze concoctions out there. Somewhat straight forward and simple, perhaps to the point of even being accused of being watery in that sense. Nice, but if it didn’t say 3F on it, doubt many would be that impressed. It’s certainly not worth import pricing premiums!
