Rciesla (3515), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA May 19, 2008 Bottle. Pours medium orange brown. Gueuzy sour funk lambic that has a great mouthwatering aroma of brett. This was a great pick up. eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA May 18, 2008 Pour was hazy golden to amber in color, the pour deceptively revealing carbonation, although it didn’t really come through in the mouthfeel much at all. Aroma was funk, hoseblankets, leather, light oak. The flavor was all of that, but it wasn’t much sour/tart overkill like others of its style, and spicey notes were all behind the funk. Some apples and grapes were mixed in, but I didn’t find this to be one of the more complex lambic/gueuze concoctions out there. Somewhat straight forward and simple, perhaps to the point of even being accused of being watery in that sense. Nice, but if it didn’t say 3F on it, doubt many would be that impressed. It’s certainly not worth import pricing premiums! MIBRomeo (1962), Wisconsin, USA May 18, 2008 amber pour tall white head good lacing. Big leather & barn aroma light sour fruits nice tart nose. Palate is avg but very puckering. Flavor is very sour and lingers..becoming a light leathery note sour sour fruits almost tangy very well blended and mellow though. Delicious. michael-pollack (2606), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA May 17, 2008 375ml Bottle: Sour aroma. Smells of sour mix, vinegar, funk, yeast, metal, and stinky cheese. Poured orange/amber in color with no head. Cloudy. Some large particles. Flavor is sour and tart. Tastes of sour mix, metal, zinc, funk, stinky cheese, fruit, and yeast. Medium body. Chalky texture. Soft carbonation. Tart, metallic finish. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA May 16, 2008 375, corked and baled. Thanks so much for bringing this home and cracking it, Skoi! This was definitely a good bit of a rare treat. Pours hazy, grainy light amber with pink overtones. No head or lace to speak of. Big green apple, lemon, and grapefruit nose. Lightish, fairly still body. Tons of sour fruit bouncing back and forth across the mid-palate. Very sharp and distinct and actively attacking flavor profile. Not a gueuze of infinite complexity, but a very bracing and refreshing one for sure. Delicious. notalush (2628), Denver, Colorado, USA May 15, 2008 Sampled at Dickinsonbeer’s Hoboken gathering - hazy straw-colored beer - nice wild blue cheese funk in the aroma, with moderate acidity - some salty/briny character in the flavor, with cheese/funk/barnyard, and some phenolic character that I’ve come to expect from 3F - finishes with a little more salty/briny flavor - more acidic than sour, but still another quality offering from these folks. ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark May 15, 2008 Cloudy golden colour with a very small head. Malty, tart fruity aroma with yeasty and dusty notes. Malty, light sweet fruity flavor with a vague tart note. Yeasty, dusty finish. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA May 14, 2008 Very smooth gueuze, maybe the lack of carbonation tames the acidity a bit, but a softer feel giving way to an unreal amount of flavors. Dry wild yeast flavors up front giving that barn/funky scent, citrus and cheesie hops, dried pineapple. Medium acidity, moderate sourness.
