Pours a hazy and golden beer with a weak white head. The aroma is fruit, tart, acidity and grapefruit. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is acidic and sweetness. Overall a really good and complex beer. [Rating #3400]

12/2010 Bottling. Enjoyed in a Harpoon 100 Barrel glass at cellar temperature of 60 Degrees F. Shared with a friend.

A - Hazey and burnt orange appearance. Small amount of head that sticks around but nothing revolutionary.

S - Scent is a funky vinegar like citrus. Smells like lemons and fresh cut grass.

T - Very bright and in your face taste. It’s a dominating beer that covers your tongue and fills your cheeks. Hint of very light vinegar on the tongue with this very nice lemon juice zestiness and some peach or apricot properties.

M - 10% carbonation on the mouth swish. Medium body. Lingering funk breadiness.

O - This is quite enjoyable but not my favorite from Armand and friends.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2012 Bottle/Dec, 2010. Pours an orangey complexion with no discernible head. Smells of basic Geuze, grass, peppercorn, and yeast. Tastes of lemons, milk sugar, biscuits, funk, wheat bread and sour grass. Starts and ends thin as air. Decent beer.

2006 vintage, big bottle, all for me :)
Golden, no head, small bubbles rise upe from the middle of the glass. Smells of funk, barnyard, horse blanket. all the brett cliche’s at once. Also some wheat and tart fruits. Taste is light sweet, quite tart, light to moderate sour, some apple and other fruit tartness. Somer rubber long back on the palate. No carbonation, watery texture, light body. Very enjoyable and quite dsrinkable for a sour. Nice flavors, i would actually call it balanced. No need for this gueuze to be mega sour, it’s good as it is

Funky, sourery, lemony and earth. All blended well with a acidic / bread finish. Another solid lambic.

I split a bottle of this with my wife tonight while watching a lightning storm. Bottled February 23, 2006 Clear appearance with absolutely no head or lacing, exactly as the label indicated. Funky sour aromas with a subtle fruitiness and a little bit of barnyard or farm scents. The taste is very tart, though the acidity is lower than I anticipated, making this a rather drinkable beer. Carbonation is virtually non-existent, and the beer has a watery, smooth feel. Overall, a pretty decent gueuze.

12.7oz bottled February 23, 2006. Served at around 45F.

Pours hazy burnt orange with zero head.

Aroma is fruity, lemon & apple, oak, good deal of barnyard funk. Very good strength.

Flavor is acidic sour start to finish, funky, cheesy, woody, some lemon, apple, but fruit is subdued compared to the nose. Finishes a touch watery.

Mouthfeel is light/medium bodied, oily, a bit sticky, zero carbonation.

Interesting one. I’ve only had a few Gueuzes and this is a fair bit different than the others. Completely still, and a lot more funky and woody than what I’ve experienced. OK, but not my favorite...

75cl bottle from 2006. Hazy golden peach flesh colored pour with some small bubbles. Aroma is very sweet. Ripe orange, tangerine and pineapple is prominent in this very fruity lambic. Musty oak, brett notes and barnyard, a surprising vanilla element. Huge horseblanket and funkiness .Grapefruit. Very funky all over, but the lovely fruitiness is most prominent. Taste is similar, though a lot more brett-forward and leathery, a grape-like dry bitterness from the brett in the far back of the mouth. It is tart, but balanced by a good sweetness, and it comes off lighter in tartness than many other geuzes. Very light in carbonation, smooth texture, very nice mouthfeel. Thicker texture than other geuzes, a bit oily. I lile this one a lot.
