bvc (228), Kenmore, Washington, USA Jul 12, 2009 375ml bottle corked and caged wrapped with foil. Bottled on Feb 23 2006. Pours a clear golden peach color with about 4 bubbles in the middle. Nose is tart...lemon, peach, white grapes, apple...some ’poopie’ funk, woody and earth notes. Very little to no carbonation on the palate. Flavor is great though...lots of stuff going on. Tart fruity notes, subtle funk, some mustiness, and a touch of wood. Very harmonious flavors. I only wish that this one had some more carbonation. kwatoko (30), Belgium Jul 7, 2009 Bottle from streekproductencentrum. Pours light slightly hazy orange, no head and almost no carbonation. Strong and acidy in the nose. Tastes citric acid, some oak, maybe something smokey, some other tastes I cannot place. Very nice palate, this is a top beer! l1br4r14n (274), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jul 4, 2009 This was my first gueuze, and although I enjoy some sours, this was just too much for me. A strong sour flavor, and some strange stuff that is hard to describe. Something burnt? Also quite acidic. I definitely picked up on the band-aids as well. Can’t say I enjoyed this. KnN (715), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Jul 4, 2009 Pours a murky lemon color with almost no head. Aroma is lemon, bandaids, and some leather. Lots of citrus in this beer but the nose is really huge and funky. Good mouth pickering sour kick on the front end gives way to citrus bandages and a deep earthiness on the back. Nice complex gueze. Tasty beer. (Rating #2487) Oakes (8058), gone rambling, Vietnam Jun 24, 2009 Cloudy, amber. Complex lemon and leather with light fruity notes. Flat. Very earthy character with hints of grapefruit and light leather notes. Tasty. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Jun 21, 2009 Bottle from Premier Gourmet & enjoyed at Rudolf’s Lambic Tasting 2009. Pours aflat dirty gold. Typical funky, musty earthy lambic aroma. Taste, while flat, is extremely smooth. Nice sourness, acidity & earthiness. Flatness makes it more drinkable IMO Maddog (231), Kettering, Ohio, USA Jun 21, 2009 Had on draft at the Dilly Deli. Bottled in Feb. of 2006. Thanks for the suggestion, Peanut! May be my beer of the year in 2009. Light amber in color, cloudy with an aroma of serious funk and flavors that are overwelmingly tart with that funky, musty, yeasty flavors of a master Gueuze. This beer was definitely aged in oak, was crisp and refreshing and had flavors that lingered on the palate for a long time! A killer beer.
