Pours cloudy, with a dark orange body and a small, white albeit quick disappearing head. Smells sour, with nice hints of citrus. Taste is very sour, with a nice oak finish and a small hint of barnyard. Mouthfeel is dry. fiulijn (7530), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 16, 2008 Corked bottle, plastic cork, 37.5 cl, bottled 2006-02-17 Beautiful golden color, clean, with 1cm of foam, creamy but that disappears quickly. It has a peculiar aroma, because to the classic cellar aroma adds an unusual malt and sugar. In the front the mouthfeel is rounder than the average Drie Fonteinen, also because of the extremely low carbonation; it has some malt flavor, it even seems to have some residual sweetness, but suddenly the bitterness increases, like eating the peel of some very bitter citrus fruit, maybe too bitter for my expectations, and at the end there is a light astringency too. The final soften this aggressivity, and it’s overall pleasant, with some cellar flavors, citrus fruits and bitterness all together. Good but not impressive. bhensonb (4406), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 18, 2008 Bottled Feb 23 2006. Sort of a hazy apricot color with no head. Aroma is medium barnyard with a little citrus. Thin plus body with very, very little carbonation. The flavor is citrous, sour and some funk. Finally it turns into something pretty much like grapefruit rind. It’s very smooth, very drinkable. Not particularly getting wood aspects. It is slightly astringent (oak?) and quite dry. Mouth puckers somewhat. It really drinks well. omhper (12338), Stockholm, Sweden

Wonderful aroma of cobweb and barnyard. Sweeter than exoected, yet dry of course. nearly no carbonation. Medium bodied with a citric edge. Creamy malt together with stale grassy hops and barnyard. Very good, but I lack some complexity and acidity compared to the very best bottles I had from 3 Fonteinen. DaSilky1 (2033), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Jul 24, 2009 Pours a slightly muddy dark orange with a transparent pearl necklace on its head. Smelled like the basement of cottage I used to visit in the summer when I was a young lad. It also smells a bit like sour blood orange. No carbination whasoever, so it has the consistency of tap water. Mostly unripe nectarine and peach flavors but more of essences among the sourness rather than actual flavors. I’m impressence with the nectarine layer there, actually...quite subtle, yet it seems to give the drink significant depth...the sourness is not forgiving...with carbination I think this would be mindblowing, but the lack of carbination almost makes it become an effort to drink more, even if the taste is fantastic. Hazy red-gold with no head and a still body. Aroma is funky and citric, with some cheesy notes. Thin body with very little carbonation. Flavour of lemon juice and tart apples, quite acidic but oddly refreshing, and a mellow funkiness in the finish. Nice stuff. ante (2977), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 14, 2008 Bottled. Pours out in a slightly hazy pale orange colour with a low white disappearing foam. Citric aroma of horse blanket, grapefruit, lemon and mild pepper. Fresh and rustic but not overly so acidic flavour of grapefruit, big lemony flavours and hay. Long fresh finish of lemon-peels and hay. A traditional iambic which is quite subtle in comparison to the hardcore stuff from Cantillon and it’s bigger brothers from 3 Fonteinen. Nice breakfast gauze, though.
