3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750mL bottled January 2003, drunk 3/26/16. Thanks to JTClockwork!
Soft, light cherry-pink body has a golden hue to it and is topped by a small, but fairly dense, off-white head with moderate-to-strong retention. Good clarity, of course.
Musty, heavy cellar-like qualities in the nose, with a definite grape-like fruitiness, soft vanilla, wet hay and easygoing horseblanket. Good intensity of aroma, even at 13 years old. No alcohol or flaws.
In the flavor, itís fruity, moderately acidic and full of bright grape and horseblanket. Perhaps a touch of green apple, with a high level of dryness, of course, and no alcohol or flaw. Still has tight carbonation and the alcohol has no doubt helped preserve it, but I just canít get that in to grape lambics. Despite having had plenty of vigneronne as well as St. Lamvinus and Reed Gueuze Pinot Noir, I find the grapes kind of clash with the acids from the bacteria and yeast, rather than complement them as with cherry and apricot. Interesting one, but probably more of a novelty at this point. Hopefully this will get rebrewed soon as Iíd much rather try it fresh.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
75CL from Clark. My god, I almost bought this secondhand so many times...looking at that buy-now button on a $600 bottle of Lambic and not doing it and now, so many years in the future that I get to try it. Finally. Yay. Thank you Clark.
A - Yellow, hazy, tight bubbles, pours with a 4-finger head thtat fades to a thin-line.
S - The grape aroma is insane. Itís absolutely insane. Grapes for days and days. Iím letting this one sit for 20 minutes and the aroma just gets more and more juicy. Lemon Meringue pie as well.
T - No doubt about it, this is a grape-bomb. Musty, Musk, basement mold, dirt and earthy. Oak tannins and the grapes and light lemon just all meld together perfectly.
M - Mouthfeel is very faded, not explosive but given the age, the pour and mouthfeel are pretty good
O - Alright, this is an old beer. I believe based on this label this is the CBC 2011 re-release. Same 2003 batch, just new label. Itís really good. let it breathe, enjoy with friends. Cherish.
