Incredible aroma just packed with raspberries and funk. Taste is pure, tart, but sweetish, raspberries with a more toned down funk. Needs a couple of years to become truly amazing... but wow, this is an unbelievable beer.

Bottle courtesy of Jan & Charlotte in Ulfborg. A big, big thank you very much! Had this in company of Jan, Charlotte, Craig, Stella, Loz and Morten 19.05.13 Wonderful aroma, fresh, clean, juicy squashed raspberries with just a little musty, dusty old furniture on the swirl. Zappy, tangy fresh and wonderful fruitiness. This really dries out the gums, Craig gets lemonyness and I get that a little with a touch of jiffy lemon coming through with that wonderful fresh, plump juicy raspberry. Marvellous beer. UPDATED: MAY 17, 2013 Woodshed 2.0. 750mL bottle share courtesy of BOLTZ7555. It pours with a murky ruby dark red body with purple hues that supports a tiny bright white head of foam. The aroma is huge with sweet smooth raspberry notes running right into basement like earthy goodness and then a wet dank concrete note that just plays so well with the other aromatics. The taste offers up sweet raspberry fruit and then moving into some tartness and vinegar and earthy dank basement that grounds the whole experience that brings a pleasing harmoniousness into the after taste. Lovely. Thanks Jason.

Huge thanks to my DC Friend for sharing this one. Cheers! Pours a hazy pink with a very fizzy white head. Nose is berries, berry skins, some funk, vinegar, lactic, and yeast. Flavor is similar with berries, skins, funk, fizz, yeast, and a mild tartness. Memorable and enjoyable overall.

Bottle @ S&B#2. Pours cloudy red with a frothy pink minimal head. Aroma is complex and at the same time very fresh and forward fruity with raspberry and some barnyard, acetic/vinegar, wheat, straw. Taste is light+ sweet, bitter and medium tart. Body is light+, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Finish is fruity, initially sweet but ends dry. Not nearly as fruity as at S&B a year ago. Can’t wait to see how this ages.

Bottle at Sour & Bitter #2, pours a pinkish ruby red with a small pink-tinged head. Aroma is very barnyardy for a fruit lambic, fragrant raspberries that are further back than the barnyard, and a little horse blanket. Extremely complex aromatics, unlike any other fruit lambic I’ve had. Aroma matches accordingly, bringing out barnyard notes upfront, followed immediately by the pungent raspberries which linger on and on. While the barnyard notes come out first, the raspberries take front and centre stage. Extremely flavourful and elegant, with a very dry and fruity mouthfeel. No acidity or really much tartness. Supreme stuff - worthy of its reputation. Absolutely phenomenal. A masterwork of lambic.

First, a huge huge thanks to the folks that shared this with me, you guys really are fucking awesome. I’ve been going back and forth on whether I should rate this. I sampled several sips from the glasses of more than one friend. But in total, I definitely had enough to give it a fair shake. Pours deep reddish amber, with an off white head. Big and raspberry jammy, especially in the nose. Light cheesy funky notes, hint of oak, and relatively now acidity. Damn good.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2013 2011. Jammy fruit galore! A touch of cheese and yeast amidst the berries. Taste is more sour than my last bottle was in August, but still needs time to develop. Mildly bittered yeast as it descends; finishes dry. Damn tasty, should age like a champ.
