2010 bottling open by Jason at Epic Tres, thanks Jason! Poured into my Jackie Oís snifter. Framboos pours almost a fluorescent red in color and transparent in clarity. Not much head on the pour, but this might be a result of the glassware I selected. Nose is packed full of jammy raspberry goodness. It dominates the beer, itís fantastic. There isnít really any 3F funk, but itíll come in time. Taste is dominated by raspberry as well, but there is a little more underlying funk present here. The mouthfeel is light, albeit almost a little oily? Light acidity, gentle carbonation, and has a nice, long finish. Incredible fruit lambic that will age gracefully for many years. Is there anything Armand canít do?

Sample at SBWF 2015. Tart and fruity smell with raspberries. Similar taste. Nice and smooth. It was an open bottle with almost no carbonation but still great.

Bottle @ Dangerous Bottleshare +1. í11 vintage. Dirty reddish pour with a frothy head. Nose is jammy, raspberry, cranberries and some tannins. Taste is super jammy raspberries, leather, tannins, oak and some funkiness. Pretty good!

2014 bottle shared by Charule. Pours a pretty still slightly cloudy purplish red. Aromas of raspberry jam, slight musty basement, barnyardy funk. Very complex aroma. Taste is more sour than I expected. Would make a nice raspberry vinaigrette. Acidity makes the beer feel a tad thicker than it would normally, especially since it lacks carbonation.

Sample from 750 ml bottle at SBWF15. Hazy pink color with pinkish head. Aroma is tart, sour, wild bretty notes, raspberry. Complex and deep smell. Taste is sour, sharp, lactic, raspberries, wood, some astringent notes and wild bretty notes. Complex and very pleasant

Bottle from trade. Thanks! Poured slightly cloudy red orange with no head, bubbles on side of glass. Aroma juicy crushed raspberries with tart funk. Min carb med bod. Taste a little more tart then expected plenty of berries backend with that classic basement and spiders.

Seems like almost a good deal for $85 at a bar....yikes. But Iím more than happy to pay that at least once to try probably my favorite fruit lambic producer in the world.
The damned bartender poured the thing for us and just basically pointed the bottle downwards getting lots of sediment stir-up. As soon as he picked it up, I almost and should have just said, Iíll pour it myself, thanks. But I always feel awkward/assholeish/incredibly beer geeky when doing that. That being said, I canít stand when the bartenders/servers pour the bottle for you at a beer bar. Almost all places donít, but of course Lord Hobo had to this instance....sigh. Anyhow, resulting pours show a clear glass and a hazy glass (the very first pour being unaffected). Thankfully, trying both the unsedimented and sedimented showed very little difference (probably just raspberry sediment and little/no yeast, as there was no dirtiness/metal/blandness that I would normally associate with heavily yeast sedimented beers). Head was small and pink and immediately fizzled away to a cover of light bubbles. The liquid itself a deep auburn with magenta and violet hues, as well.
Juicy, wonderfully fruity nose shows the characterful brett brightness I associate with 3F, as well. Itís a great mix of lambic and fruit character and pretty well-homogenized at only a year of age. No flaw whatsoever, no alcohol and no tannin or oak to get in the way of the beer/fruit character (not that Iíd expect that from 3F). Really nice, sniffable, balanced nose.
The flavors abound with raspberry, deep and juicy with plentiful acidity that crescendos to the finish with a very acidic, palate-cleansing, tooth-cleaning end. Very soft texture with low but more than ample carbonation. No, itís not flat, no the carbonation is not problematic, no Armand did not release this prematurely for some compromising commercial gain. As usual, people not understanding/appreciating lambics with little basis in reality and they immediately scream "MY BEERíS FLAT". No, itís not, youíre a moron. Go try some other lambics instead of just the few rare whales youíve had in your beer bro campaign ;)
Overall, just true, clean authentic lambic funk mixed with plentiful raspberry acids and juiciness. Most of the real lambic producers get very high ratings, almost universally, for their beers. Some point at this and call it bias. But I donít think so. Rather, these beers and others like them are just on a whole different level. Itís not that they have some magical flavor to them that you taste and immediately crap your pants because of. What they do is present a well-homogenized flavor with an artful balance of various acids, generally very low in acetic, with little/no oakiness nor any astringent tannin. There are rarely, if ever off-flavors/flaws and they are amazingly quite delicious both young and aged. Not to mention Iíve never had an under or overattenuated 3F or Cantillon.
Most other sour beers fail at one or more of these categories and only the really, truly special ones nail them all, like a true lambic.

2011 thanks to Phredrik! Big want. Pours reddish/brown with a medium pinkish head. Aroma is out of this world-jammy, tart raspberries, vinegar, funky stable notes, oaky notes. Taste is once again jammy, funky, tannic, stable, oaky, vinegary and has a lot of tart raspberry pits to back up the sweetness.

2014. Drunk at Julioís liquor store tasting (MA) with Morse. Loads of raspberries Some good acid and funk. Felt it needed another six months or so. Aroma was stunning. Pure raspberry juice. Such a shame this is so special and hard-to-get as it really is an outstanding lambic. I love raspberries, one of my favourite fruits. If you could bottle the aroma for perfume it would be awesome.

Bottle. Yeast, raspberry malt, and musty hay aroma. Cloudy ruby red with minimal head. Sharp sour vinegat, light raspberry, malt, and musty hay/straw flavor. Very nice balance.
