bottle... really dark red, almost in between sangria and red wine... the aroma is STRONG, olives and blue cheese at first, as it settles and opens up you are patiently awarded with a more balanced combination of raspberries, light cheese and hay, its perfect... the taste is really really good, but you can tell its fresh, in time this will settle down perfectly and live up to its older relatives

HUGE THANKS! 2014 Framboos. 2013 Hommage. 2011 Framboos sampled side-by-side. This is a beer that I have been wanting to try forever & ever. First 2014 Framboos & 2013 Hommage side-by-side. 2014 Pours a very dark deep raspberry, surprisingly little carbonation. Hommage on the other hand does carry a definite head, light smallish pink head, also a very dark raspberry. 2014 Framboos has a very deep raspberry smell, almost coulis, mashed raspberries, funk is light, touch vinegary raspberry acidity. Hommage on the other hand has very clear funk, rustic, cherry pits dominate a bit & are far more clear than any raspberry. Taste is of 2014 Framboos is huge pureed raspberries, huge amount of fruit, very thick, coulis, very straightforward, juicy, almost simple, there is some horseblanket but it is light, light oak, jam,… Low carbonation, pureed raspberry / coulis type of body. Simplest of the 3 beers. 2013 Hommage has a huge amount of kriek & kriek pits in the taste, the dominates strongly despite only the small percentage,… Thicker body,… def. carbonation. More rustic character & more complexity than the 2014 Framboos. While an amazing beer, a bit too much kriek pits & kriek flavor for something that is more or less meant to be a raspberry beer. 2011 Framboos. Clearly superior to the 2014 version. Way frutier,… Dark raspberry & clear carbonation. Huge fruity character which combines perfectly big a big barnyard funk, fruit tastes somewhat like wild strawberries to me, thick fruity, wild, barnyard, explosive. Spectacular, best of the 3 easily for me. 4.9 for the 2011 Framboos. 4.8 for the 2014 Framboos. 4.9 Rating here is for the 2011 Version.

Thank you to Travlr for sharing! Great deep muddy ruby color. Huge nose of fruit. Very funky. Fruit is present but not as obvious as i expected but the bottle was from 2011. Tasty stuff!

Raspberry aroma fills the room, raspberry jam, funky barnyard, hay, horse blanket, raspberry sourness sour fruit, oak, citrus, strong tart sour aftertaste. Incredible mouthfeel. Medium carbonated. UPDATED: MAR 17, 2015 2015 Framboos (bottling 18/06/2014), 75cl bottle shared on first release day. Pours a hazey red with quickly vanishing pink head. A: raspberry funk, cassis hints, slight jam, very dry finish’ lots of fruit - such a rich aroma! Same dry finish on the taste profile. I get lots of raspberry, medium sour, horseblanket, barnyard, oak, some vinous notes, citrus peel, lots of earth and tart. A lot of depth and the low carbonisation makes it very unique and allows rich flavours to intertwine. Probably one of the best fruit lambics around!

4600th rating. 2011 bottle at RBWG Grand Tasting. Thanks to GT for bringing this and Graeme with the assist. Pours a cloudy red brown with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong raspberry seed and light funk. Thin mouth, tart raspberry, funk, nice sourness throughout, really enjoyed this one!

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2015 Bottle: 2011 vintage. Murky, crimson tinted copper with a brown & ruby tinted collar. Almost muddy. The lavender-khaki foam fades in seconds. Huge lemon & raspberry aroma, both incredibly jammy & acidic; full of sharp, seedy raspberry fruit skin, lemon rind, mild corky barnyard funk, earthy undertones, woody hay, & a touch of sweaty funk. Gushing & incredibly juicy rasperry flavor, sour as hell, backed with acidic lemon, wet barnyard hay, moldy cork, stone fruit, berry, faint vinegar, a touch of white wine, a wonderful finish of oak tannins, perfect sourness. Acidic without the burn, juicy & jammy without being to sweet. Dry. Incredible stuff. Wow, just incredible.

15 cl pour from a 2011/2012 (don’t remember when it is from) 75cl bottle thanks to a couple of nice guys from Drikkeriet at Fermentoren. Pours a deep, dark, semi-clear red with a small pink head. Aroma has lots of both tart raspberries and riper sweet, frozen, dirty raspberries. Deep vinous notes, almost like rosé or lambrusco.. well, not in a particularly bad way. Taste shows some more funky and leatherish fruits, and thus showing the aging. Very sour and dry, but with ripe raspberry sweetness. Got some of the almost metallic sourness that frozen strawberries sometimes have. Haven’t had this fresh, but damn, the aging seems to suit this beer well! Crisp and fresh body, yet deep and tasty. Thrilled to have this!

2011 bottle. Deep raspberry nose, some unsweetened jam, green olives, leather. Very funky. Great level of sourness, a touch of yogurt, good fruit, leather, lemon. Unexpectedly deep orange-red and cloudy. Lovely balance, lots of barnyard feel, dusty. wildly complex and sourness is in check. Extremely savory, meaty, nor sweet or sour. Very drinkable. Great, and very interesting.
