Wow, not as wonderful as expected and wonder if it was cellared properly. Aroma brings too muc sulfur dioxide for me, like gas, with a little paint thinner and berry. Body is thicker, definitely bringing a big dryness. Flavor is quite tart and the berries are under the puckering tartness.

As expected, fantastic fruit lambic. Raspberries are strong, cherries are subtle. Great acidity and clean fruit. Surprisingly little funk for its age. 2007 bottle at Brouwer’s.

Pours an opaque rose/plum color with a thin white head. Aroma is musty/leathery with light raspberry, tart cherry, and vinous/funky notes...a bit of a beet note. Flavor follows suit...nice soft fruit notes and mild acidity...very well rounded. Mouthfeel is light and the finish is funky/leathery and tart fruit...dry. gorgeous beer...amazing.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2006 Vintage. Shared @Moeder Lambic, with the good RB people from Bergen, Norway. Shimmering orangey amber body. A layer of blonf bubbles on top. Initial aroma of dusty cobwebs and mouldy cellar. Then a strong, yet rounded scent of red berries funk and leather. Taste is utterly complex and balanced. Raspberry tart, lemon, unripe apples, grass, hay, dust, wood. All so well integrated. Smooth and mild mouthfeel. Light funk and rounded berry tartness in the ending. What a treat! [21.04.13]

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
2006 bottle @ Moeder Lambic, Brussels, courtesy of OleR and shared with OleR, Inbreak and ej. Legendary - cheers Ole Richard! :-D Pours a deep orange-brown body with a small white head. Aroma is deep spicy cellar notes, tart red fruity tones, cinnamon, hay, straw, hints of cherries and stable funk. So complex and yet subtle; this one sure smells promising. Taste is mellow dark malts and red fruits up front, then apple vinegar, stable funk and finally sharp lemony acidic tones, balsamic, acetic acid and red berries. Extremely complex, very tart and all round a splendid sour experience. A great sour from 3F.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled around 2009. INCREDIBLE. Baskets of raspberries dipped in tart on the nose. Sweeter raspberry on the flavor up front, sliding into wood, slight slight hints of vanilla, and funk. But a tamed, polite funk, that’s brilliant. Nice long soured finish with hints of cherries blended well. Craft at it’s finest!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750mL bottle at Grote Dorst, pours a cloudy ruby red with a pink tint and small pink-tinted beige head. Aroma of faded raspberries, some barnyard funk, and some dusty notes. Flavour is similar, bringing out potent notes of raspberries upfront, followed by barnyard funk, and some dustiness. I would’ve loved to try this fresh to have a point of comparison, as the raspberries are a little faded. Nevertheless, this is very complex, especially towards the end of the glass when the yeast kicks in more. Faded fruitiness and funky finish. Delicious stuff, but no where near 3 Fonteinen Framboos, which I can’t help but use as a point of comparison.

Darkened orange. Aroma of over-ripe berries, hints of paintthinner, barnyard/dried hay and some woody notes. Taste is acidic, cellary, loads of berries and fruityness and bone-dry.
