Pours a beautiful translucent ruby color. Aroma is a light raspberry and lemon peel. Flavor is soft raspberry flavor with a little tartness but a nice sour finish. Not too funky, but more acidic and fruity. Carbonation is lively and and perfect for the style.

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Multiple Times. One of my all-time favorites and should only improve in the upcoming years. Amazing and complex aroma of extreme barnyard and funk characteristics. Taste is all hinted from the aroma with the sweetness from the cherry and raspberry fruit. craftycarl21 (601), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Bottle @ Ebenezer’s. Beautiful pour; dark rose/plum pour with an effervescent head. Aroma is magnificent; start is an insane raspberry character that melds into cherry. From there, a woody and vanilla tone emerges, with some interesting spice ideas, much like nutmeg. Throughout all of these stages, a beautifully mellow barnyard funkiness provides the foundation of the nose. Flavor is out of control; the tart cherry is phenomenal, and the raspberry sweetness compliments it adeptly. Really nice secondary tier of flavors includes pear, apple cider, oak, and grape skin. Palate is full, with a bone dry finish. Exceptional lambic. oteyj (823), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 2, 2010 The pour is a murky rose in color with a patchy white veneer. Aroma is bursting and vivacious with loads of pureed raspberries that culminate with distinct funken cherry notes near the end. Further notes are prolific and hard hitting, manifesting in with wet hay, straw, barn, and subtle earthen funk. The flavor makes my jaw drop with wonder and intrigue. Massive raspberry is prevalent, while the sour cherry is accentuated by the wild yeast arrangement. Pear and apple with mild notes of acetic acid, grapeseed, and super subtle tannins. The palate is full, mildly effervescent, slippery in the body, and dry in the finish. Perhaps the best fruit lambic I’ve ever had. Pinball (3013), Allerød, Denmark

pours cloudy raspberry tinted brown with a white collar.
man, it smells like a garbage bin... only garbage water made its way through and was allowed to sit overnight with the bag still in... rotten garbage water about sums it up. but, not in a repulsive way. that rotten umami stink mixes with dusty basement, raspberry and its tartness, herbal, some minerality and worcestershire sauce (which happens to be made of rotten vegetables... see where this is going?).
the flavor is similar after the rotten note blows over... green raspberry tartness, red raspberry fruity goodness, cream cheese, mineral/slate, grass, wood and a lemony tartness. it is complex and not overly tart.
the palate is sharp and crisp yet there is some grit/chalkiness to the texture. wow! 8/5/8/4/17/4.2

Another one I never thought I’d get a chance to try. Golden garnet pour with a white film floating atop the body and a ring circling the glass. The aroma is pungent raspberry, tart cherry skin, lemon rind, and light barnyard. This was a really enjoyable sour...not jaw-locking, lip-puckering, or eye-watering...rather drinkable, satisfying, and memorable. Flavor shows freshly picked, slighly green raspberry, cheese, and balsamic vinegar. Really tasty and glad to have had a change to sample!!! | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 25, 2009 750 mL bottle, courtesy of ygtbsm94, dated 2-14-2007. Pours a pinkish red-orange with slight pinkish head. The aroma has a whole lot going on--raspberry, lavender, leather, cheese, oak, cherry (noticeable only after it breathes for a while), brett, lemon, and witch hazel. The flavor is a nice, creamy cheesiness with a very assertive sourness under it. The raspberry is rather evident, but I have to struggle to pick up any cherry. There is plenty of oak and general woodiness, as well as a bit of zesty character. Toward the finish is a nice, farmy brett character and a dry, waxy honeycomb (stole the descriptor from NachlamSie) note that I find rather fascinating. Quite a good beer.
