4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Opened in celebration of the 2012 Presidential Election, November 6 with my wonderful wife. Ive been hanging on to this bottle for roughly 3 years now. 2007 vintage is marked on the bottle. Cork comes out with a faint pop, pours a hazy golden cherry color with fine carbonation and a thin ring of head. Immediate aroma of acetic acid, funky cheese and sour cherry. The power of the aroma is nearly overwhelming. Barnyard and must is all over the nose. I cant believe how tart this is even with the age. The flavor is less intense than the aroma, with a dry sweet blend of cherry and dried grass. Flavor profile transitions from sweet to bitter cheese and yeasty biscuit, but incredibly complex. Undertones of old oak wood, wheat, peppercorn, rosemary and lemon zest. The finish is light and dry with a tingly carbonation sting on the palate. Overall a delightful drinking experience, the unbalanced aroma dinged it in my book, but the complexity gives it points. Well worth the wait, now we’ll have to see what the bugs in this beer do to my bowels tomorrow morning...

Shared bottle at RB Crete tasting at Nikos place, Chania. Pours hazy dark reddish with a very small weak head. Aroma of crisp raspberry, funk and cellar. Taste is crisp fruity, raspberries and cherries, long citric finish, nothing offensive about this beer, just a crisp fresh fruity mix.

Thimble sized rate... Deal w/ it or scroll past.
Pours a hazy pretty deep pink with a small head.
The aroma is funky & lightly lemony with a lot of bright fruity raspberry.
The flavor is dry & dominated with seedy raspberry fruitiness & a mild but beautifully balanced tart cherry. There is a real earthiness to it and it’s mildly sour but beautifully tart. A wonderful achievement in balance.

3 Fonteinen’s Hommage is considered one of the preeminent Fruit Lambics of the world. With raspberry, cherry, and wild yeast, this 3 Fontenein blend is a Hommage a Trois (I’m starting early with the bad puns) shared by these 3 sour, yeasty components. Deep red pour. Tart, funky aroma with some flashes of syrupy sweetness. An acidic flavor profile at the start which gradually transitions toward fruitiness. The raspberry comes through especially well. It’s a lively feel with a stickiness that lingers. A lovely beer, but it comes at a steep price.

Bottle in a taster. Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma of sourness, raspberry, some light oak and funk with a little cough syrup. Flavor the same with a cough syrup on the finish sort of ruining it. Average texture. Good but expecting better.
