HUGE thanks to xpimptastikx for bringing this beer to our impromptu/epic tasting last night. 750ml corked & caged bottle into a Ranger Creek tulip. Hommage pours with a rosy, violet-amber hue studded with a fine yeasty haze. A pink, Valentineís day head retains surprisingly well. Gorgeous beer! Sadly, the aroma has not held up to age as well as the appearance. Big phenolic notes greet the nose alongside a leathery, cheesy, funky armpit presence. Cooked asparagus and green olives were suggested, and I agree. However, sniff past the pickled funkiness and there are some nice acetic berry tones lurking beneath. All is forgiven upon the first sip. This Lambic is heavenly in flavor, with a super tart lactic punch to the sides of the tongue offset by a decadent, funky raspberry jam note in the middle. Mouthfeel is dry, tart, and refreshing with a perfect carbonation level. Overall, an amazing beer; I am grateful that I got the opportunity to try Hommage. Itís a shame the nose hadnít held up, but the deliciousness more than makes up for that fact. Thanks again Michael!

Raspberry and tart cherry aroma with decent amount of oak and must. Flavor equal to wonderful aroma. Finishes crisp and raspberry with oak lingering on.

2013 bottle. The aroma features tart cherry, earthy raspberries, musky oak barrel, and light vanilla. Murky ruby grapefruit in color. The taste is mouth-puckering tart with dried cherry as the prominent flavor (no surprise there) followed by lactic acid, a yeasty damp basement tone, and a mild spicy note that I cannot place. Prickly mouthfeel. Good, but I prefer the Schaerbeekse Kriek over this one.

Pours a clear ruby red with quickly vanishing head. Aromas are all over the place upon opening. Jammy raspberry, sugars, strawberry, berries, some cassis, yeast, marmelade-ish nose, lactic acid and lemon. Tons of fruit! Lovely! At start some sourness and co2, followed by soft tart funk of raspberry, then some strawberry hints followed by sweet full-on raspberry jam. The acids dissipate in the actertaste, while the allost cloying sweet character lingers on. Unique raspberry lambic.

Great dark full red colour in the glass. The nose is full of fruity raspberry with a hint of sourness. The beer starts intense sour, lots of cherries, the raspberries are a bit in the background. But in the mainpart there is the great intense sour fruitiness of cherries and raspberries. Absolutely great sour fresh fruits. The Lambic is in the background - tons of sour fruit. On the tongue remains this intense sour-fruity aroma for long. The typical lambic flavours arenít missing, as the picture is also great intense and round without the horse blanket. Great sour intense stuff!

Very jammy, light carb, good berry flavors, some mint, sweet and funky finish, very nuanced and chances to funk as it warms

Sample at the Uber-Kurt (10,000) Celebration on 12/13/2014. Pours a cloudy pinkish-red color with a medium frothy pinkish-white head that dissipates gradually. Sticky small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of berries, cherries and yeast. Medium-bodied with flavors of tart berries, dark cherries and funky yeast. The finish is moderately sour with a lingering tart berry aftertaste. Good beer overall.

Aroma is super fruity with lots of raspberry and cherry character. Light barnyard, earthy funk with moderate acidity. Not quite one dimensionally fruity, but it definitely dominates the aroma. Pours a cloudy reddish copper with a moderate pink head with decent retention. Flavor has moderately strong acidity with lots of fruit, especially the cherry. Light oak and barnyard funk. Again, somewhat one dimensional but there is some light funk and oak to balance out the fruit. Light citrus notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer but itís super jammy and fruity. I would like to see some more funkiness develop and for the fruit to fade just a bit.

Bottle split 5 ways. Pour is slightly dirty, hazy red with a tiny white head that fades away rather quickly. Nose has loads of raspberries, some strawberry, almonds and cherries. Taste is rather juicy with cherries and raspberries. Finishes with a rather acidic edge. Very good!
