12.7 oz bottle pours a dark ruby red with a thin spotty pink purple head. Aroma is musky, mild funk, tart cherries, very nice mellow oak. Taste really nails a unique sweet tartness if the cherries I havenít seen in a kriek before, cherries present tart and sour but with a sweet fruit juice presence. Lacto and oak also help to round out a nice balance. Awesome, Iíll be picking up more of this next time I see it!

375 mL bottle courtesy of Tyson, served in a snifter. Pours intense red wine with a small pink head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves no lace. The nose has huge notes of cherry and flowers, along with dust, subtle earth and dust. The flavour is balanced, mildly tart and moderately sweet, with a load of cherries. The finish is medium in length and soft with more cherries. On the palate it is medium in body with a silky smooth texture. Overall, this is a very nice kriek. Full of cherries but also delicate. 2014-03-08

Pours from a 375 mL bottle. Dark red-purple with a quickly fading pink head. Nice lacing. Aroma is sour cherry, dark berry, vinegar, port, with a crisp sour ascerbic finish. I love it.

Celebratory bottle into a Drie Fonteinen wine glass the night the Blackhawks won the cup. Pours a vivid blood red-purple. Nose is strong cherry with heavy skins and a bit of pit. Mild acidity with a nice earthiness alongside plenty of cherry skin and fruit. A bit heavy on the fruit compared to the base lambic, but still quite nice.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cork opened with the most minimal pop. Pours purple with a nice small pink head. The aroma has lush cherries, cream, some tartness, citric bite, hints of vinegar and it all has a very clean pureness to it. Medium crisp body with very restrained carbonation (low pop indicated this). It starts out with a very citric bite (on lemony side), bugginess, some tart cherry (not as overt as aroma predicted) and a bit more malt presence than expected. The finish is short and sharp with the tart cherry aspect coming out more and some phenolic spice. Very solid.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Dark ruby red pour with no head just a light rose hued collar around the edge of the glass. Aroma is all about the sour cherries with notes of wine. Flavor is very similar, so delicious. Wonderfully tart but not over the top sour with lots of cherry. Perfectly balanced between the fruit and sour characteristics. This one definitely deserves all the praise that it gets. Amazing brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Deep, ruby & crimson color allowing some light to pass through, topped with no actual head, just a mild, lavender-tinted collar. Aroma is full of candied cherries, both sweet & sour, but more so on the sweet side. Light lemon & lacto tartness builds up with just a hint of corky funk, though not much. Taste starts with some sour cherry & lightly acidic lemon flesh, but quickly leads into a more mellow sweetness; cherry jam with sugary cracker crust. I get some mild spiced notes throughout, almost like timid cinnamon & lavender, but itís hard to exactly pinpoint. Oak in the finish with more cherry & a light apple-like fruit presence. Could use more carbonation. A very nice, well crafted kriek ale, although perhaps falling short of the brewerís other krieks.

Intense fruitiness yet lacks the finesse that for instance the lou Pepe series from Cantillion delivers. That being said, itís a very quaffable kriek and is highly recommended
