Bottle. Clear deep red with a medium sized quickly dissipating pink head. Cherry and lots of almonds in the nose. Same goes for the nose, this is like cherry sauce only sour and not as sticky. Light/medium sweet and sour with a nice light dry and acid finish, a bit like sour green apples. Light/medium body, oily texture, medium carbonation. Man, I really like cherries.

0.375l corked bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. Oh yeah, it’s intense Red on the pour alright. Almost blood purple in a way and it had a small bubbly quickly sidesticking pinkish top. Lovely aroma indeed. Cherries and a sour base with lots of grassy almost vine like hints. Fruity cherries and some white sugar. Lovely stuff. The taste is also intense, deep and powerful. It has a strong kinda acidic pickled lemony flavor with those strong lovely deep dark cherries. It’s somewhat mouthdrying this, I have to say, but that a small price to pay for that lovely Kriek flavor. Can drink lots of this and I know I will. Yum! 08.06.2013

Deutlicher Kirschgeschmack, in dem die Säure zu kurz kommt. Im weiteren Verlauf bleibt die Fruchtigkeit stark, die Säuerlichkeit enttäuscht. Mild, langweilig. 13/10/9/8/8/9

Shared with friends 29.07.’13 @ Eutropius. Really deep deep red ruby color, with almost no head. Aroma: intense cherry, vinous, sour. Medium body. Taste: good!, very sour cherries, very drinkable, sour fruitiness. Fantastic beer.

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2013 375ml bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, Tampere

Bottled 13.11.2012, BBE 13.11.2017 - Pours deep dark red with a small light red head. Aroma of tart cherries, sourness, spices and berries. Taste is juicy with loads of berries, cherries, tartness and mild sourness. Finish is sweetish, sourish and slightly tart with loads of cherries. Quite heavy on cherries, but not as sour as I had hoped. Could probably use some more aging.

37.5 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu. Bottled 13.11.2012, BBE 13.11.2017
Quite odd aroma with cinnamon and some cherry juice - just like Mort Subite Oude Kriek. Also some juicy notes. Flavour is tart with cherry juice, woody notes and cinnamon. This is just too juicy. I think the intense here are the cherries while I would have liked intense sourness instead. Perhaps aging could do the trick?

Bottle (november 13th 2012 lot number) from Belgium via Bu11zeye. Rating 7500, I think. Sadly I have 2000 more in backlog I need to upload. Pours a bloody hued body with an intensely pink off-white head. Aromas fill the room. On closer inspection strong almondy aroma with deep and rich black cherries, fruity, raspberry, wet wool and leather. Light stone fruit and a touch of tannic barrel. Very beautiful brett funk character. Flavors are tart, wet wool, a touch metallic, lots of cherry, tons of tannic fruit skins, pie cherry like sweet perception with light spice (cinnamon and warming all spice). Lots of acid that is masked by skin tannins. Complex in a very different way. Medium lively carbonation. The funk finish is lightly chlorophenolic, but still pleasant. The fruit is indeed INTENSE. Tannins add to the body, slight fullness. Very different. Puckering as well as bitter in the finish with fuller carbonation.

I’ve opened three of these now, and it’s finally time to jot down a review. I am a huge fan of 3 Fonteinen, and was extremely excited when I learned of this new kriek. The beer is a deep ruby color with a pinkish-purple head. The aroma is all about the cherries. in your face sweet and tart cherries, gravitating to the sweet side a bit. I don’t want to say the beer is one dimensional, because it isn’t. However, cherries really steal the show here. Juice and jam, with just a bit of oak and tart character. An outstanding beer, even if not my favorite kriek lambic. Armand has created a nice little deviation here. A wonderful pairing with chocolate.

Thanks to ThirstyBird! 37,5 cl. The beer is deep red and has an intense aroma of red berries (red cassis, blackberries, sour cherries). The beer starts nice fruity, with great berry-aroma. Not only cherries, but as in the nose other sour red berries as well. Nice full body, not too sour. The aftertaste is long, nice combination between sour lambik-aromas and intense red fruits! --> great fruit-lambik!!! 14/13/14/14
