2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
rather dissapointing... started out nice: indeed an intense red beer. aroma: sweet, very much cherry, hints of lambic present in background but nothing much. taste: sweet, not really cloying, but rather close.
this beer is not worth the extra cost (6 euro a bottle at the brewery) and I dare say that should it be the ’new’ Oude Kriek by De troch (or so) it would get burned. it is the most mediocre 3fonteinen lambic that I have ever tasted...

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle to tulip
Wine, cherry, funk, and balsamic vinegar on the nose. Pours a deep ’intense red’ with a 1/2 cm frothy pink head. There’s no lacing at all. Taste is mildly sweet and moderately sour cherry, a touch of cinnamon, maybe cardamom, bretty funk and leather. Mouthfeel is slick with soft carbonation and a long astringent finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at Oblivion, Orlando. Vinous cherry and red grape aroma with a clean sourness. Not overly complex, but also not very carbonated. Hazy opaque young red wine appearance under a thin, pink collar of a fine bead. Sour cherries up front and intense, with some winey tannins that are not harsh and dry out the finish. Sourness is slightly mouth puckering and in the front of the palate, quickly dissipating to a clean finish. Medium light body, moderate carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep ruby red color with minimal pink head and lacing. Prominent aroma of tart dark cherries with some mustiness. Taste of tart dark cherries that borders on vinegar. Has a mild funkiness and a red wine quality. Dry, tart finish. Medium bodied with medium/high carbonation. Enjoyable with a nice amount of fruit flavor but too lactic to be drinkable.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: deep, dark, clear ruby red with an insanely bright pink head that’s gone too quickly; no lacing, and the beer appears almost completely still. Aroma: huge nose of cherry, red wine, almond skins, light vanilla, and balsamic vinegar. Taste: bright, tart, sour cherry, followed by wood leather, light milk chocolate, vanilla, and a general tannic, bretty funk. Finish: lingering and pleasant war between sour, sweet, dry, tart, and funky; cherry flavors last and last. Notes: Great lambic. Would have liked just a little bit of carbonation, as it seemed totally flat. Regardless, quite enjoyable. Bottle from Sarah for Beerthday 2015.
