2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
rather dissapointing... started out nice: indeed an intense red beer. aroma: sweet, very much cherry, hints of lambic present in background but nothing much. taste: sweet, not really cloying, but rather close.
this beer is not worth the extra cost (6 euro a bottle at the brewery) and I dare say that should it be the ’new’ Oude Kriek by De troch (or so) it would get burned. it is the most mediocre 3fonteinen lambic that I have ever tasted...

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 18/20
At home, 2014 bottle (37.5cl)
Pour: Dark, intense red (lives up to the name!), next to no carbonation and thus no head at all.
Smell: Sour cherry, candied cherry, sweet, jello
Tastes - First: sweet, intense fruit; mids: dark, sour grape; after: tartness, lingering black cherry
Verdict: Overall very pleasant taste! The sour grapes play well with the natural sourness of the lambic.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dark red with a simple pinkish foam head. Aroma was of juicy black cherries and barnyard notes. Tasting was of no surprise, tart cherries. There was a pleasant sour and acidic flavor. Overall this drink was rather good besides the soft carbonation. I really enjoyed the tasty and semi dry finish.
