Boboski, you rule. Cork releases with a loud pop, surprising to say the least. Color is a benign copperish orange, head is larger than expected. Aroma is funky Belgian goodness, with a citric, slightly green apple component. Touch of hay and straw, freshly cut silage. Awesome. Flavor is so perfectly balanced, almost to the point of perfection. The sweetness, bitterness and acidity have come together so graciously and seemlessly that this is a wonder to behold.

Aug 18, 2008 RBSG 2008. Pours hazy gold with a small white head. Dry acidic nose, hints of cheese, apple, and dusty barn. Very well balanced with a mellow sourness and acidity.

Aug 18, 2008 I hope nobody minds this placeholder rating for the purposes of the DD Top Ten list accuracy. l’ve got a real rating somewhere, and l’ll enter it one of these days, but for now l hope it’s enough to say that one of the bottles I had of this was the single greatest beer l have ever had, bar none. Simply incredible.

Aug 14, 2008 RBSG ’08. Bottle shared at the Grand Tasting at Pizza Port Carlsbad. 1993 Vintage. This was a big standout geuze for me at the tasting. Pours opaque yellow with some white bubbles and yeast sediment. Mature aroma of wet barnyard, earth, juniper and fresh flowers. Lots of lemon citrus, oak and toasted biscuit yeast tones in the flavor. Moderate acidity. Very, very easy to drink. It still has some soft carbonation in the finish.

Aug 9, 2008 Bottle shared at RBSG 08 Grand Tasting. Cloudy dark gold color with a nice bubbly head. Aroma is explosive with oak and lemon. Very sharp. Flavors of lemon juice, crabapple skins, vinegar. All with an even woodiness throughout. Very crisp and drying on the palate. Very intense but easily drinkable for sour lovers.
