Very well blended, sour, sure, but also fruity. I feel my tooth fillings eroding as ususal with lambics.
Citrus, redcurrants. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 31, 2007 Updated: Sep 12, 2007Bottle at RBESG 2007. Thanks to Mesandsim for this. It’s a "I must sit down," beer. Good lambic. Lovely tart redcurrant fruit. Intense. Good farmyard, softer than the Cantillons opened the previous evening. Good sharp fruit. Does take you to another place. 3.8/5.0
Re-rate Heeren van Liederkerke. Lots of character for this style of beer, soft in mouth. Good reddish fruits. Very drinkable because of the character. omhper (12147), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 31, 2007 Bottled at RBESG ’07. Hazy amber, lively head. Incredibly aroma of cobweb and barnyard inm layerafter layer. Tart and light bodied with lively dense mouthfeel. Mildly sour with woody barnyard flavour. So lovely and complex! I’d like just a tad more acidity, but my god, that aroma. It’s 12 out of 10! rlgk (3377), Vårgårda, Sweden Aug 30, 2007 (RBESG 2007, Glasgow. Bottle) Hazy orange color, white head. Sourish oaky aroma, woddy, dry, citric, some grapefruit and orange notes. Sour flavor, oak, cork, woody and with grapefruit. Magicdave6 (5383), London, Greater London, England Aug 28, 2007 Updated: Jul 22, 2008Bottle, huge thanks to Mes, rbesg07. Alround an amazing gueuze, funky yeasty tart apples, lots of sourness, great carbonation. This would be a top 10 for me however theres a slight apple dryness that slight get sin the way, still utterly outstanding. RERATE: Bottle thanks to Mes for my 23rd bday in Lowlander. Alround awsomeness, the hoppy apple character of the boon and the girardin sweetness are just great. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Aug 23, 2007 Orange with a small bubbly head. Smooth aroma, grapefruit and horseblanket hint of malt, hint of wood. Very tart but a smoother acidity than the blauw with some wood notes to it. I liked it slightly better than the blue. oh6gdx (8795), Vasa, Finland Aug 22, 2007 Bottled. Orange colour with mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is sourness, wood and some fruits in a really nice balance. Flavour is sourness, wood, some grass and slight fruity notes. Aftertaste is grapes and sourness. Really wellbalanced and fullbodied thing. KAME (154), California, USA Aug 18, 2007 Well, I guess it’s time to rate this beer. First of all, thanks to Chris for sharing both the Blauw and the Roze, what an awesome experience. Pours a bright amber with a one finger off-white head. Aroma is tart, with hints of citrus fruits and apricot. At first sip, a spicy cinnamon and cardamom entrance leads towards a very tart barnyard funk. Finish is slightly medicinal and herbal in quality but is balanced with lemon tartness. I’m really glad to have had this.
