Bottled. Hazy and almost amber coloured with a medium sized off-white head. This is more bitter and dry than it’s blue counterpart. Notes of barnyard, hay, citrus and a slight hint of strawberries.

Bottle. Pours a pulpy, orange-brown coloured body with a white soapy head. The aroma has plenty more funkiness - brett, shoes, barnyard, peaches, etc. I think the complexity here passes the Blauw. This one is ridiculously dry, punchy, citric acidity abound with oaky wood notes. Amazing. Had this at Heeren van Liedekercke, what a wonderous place!

Blind tasting: Hazed apricot. Fine-bubbled dense white froth. Delightful aroma of plaster, band-aid phenols, horseblanket, peach, dried leather, iron, musty oak and pencil eraser. Fine carbonation gently pricks the palate before offering a soft caress. Cedary, heavily musty and tightly oaky yet slickly fruity with a tangy medley of peach skin and lactobacillus. Oak reinforces the impeccable attenuation by exerting a tight clasp on the sides of the cheeks. Dainty residual sweetness evokes thoughts of vibrant stewed-peaches which echo the equally delicate vanillin oak tannins. Snappy phenols and harsh notes of horseblanket are softened by the underlying slickness. Clean and soft malt crackles with a gingerly sweetness before blossoming into a full-bloom straw-like anchor. Hints of iron exude and complement the tangy peach and lacto flavors. Coarse oak finish is adorned a beautiful dried-leather astringency and straw, vanillin and peach trailing. Dusty oak lingers alongside a lime-accented peach-skin bitterness. Not quite on par with the Blauw, but this has a lot of qualities I love (elegant, complex, and adeptly balanced). Fine stuff. Thanks to my pal, cquiroga, for sharing.

Cloudy copper in colour, long lasting large white head, great lacing. The aroma is quite sour and sharp, earthy, apple skins, grapes, quite acidic, barnyard, lemon citrus. The flavour is quite acidic and tart, lots of lemons, woody and earthy, old cheese, some apples. Very sharp puckering mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, acidic, incredibly sharp, quite dry. Fantastic stuff.

LCRBM: Orangey hue. Lovely aroma, sour apples and oranges. Sweetish start, nice sugar. Sour long farmy finish. Tart, long and complex. Loads of serious acid. Good stuff.

Bottle shared by miketd. Thanks, man.
Pours a nice golden color with a light head. Smell is sour, tart, funky, and bright. Flavor is tart, with mild flavor otherwise. Very sour, but very neutral otherwise. Pretty good, but didn’t blow me away.

750 ml bottle courtesy of mjames and lilannie. Poured cloudy orange yellow with a small white head after an aggressive pour. Sour funk aroma with a tad bit of ammonia. Musty and a little salty. Finish is quite short with heavy bitterness. Good but not my favorite gueuze.
