Hazy orange-golden color with a huge (but quickly-diminishing) bubbly white head. Beautiful aroma of barnyard, some sweat, some lemony notes, light soapy hints, wood and some earth-after-rain. Refreshing sour flavor with some citrus, vinegar notes, some tropical fruits touches, earth and oak. Light sweetness in the back. Medium-bodied with soft carbonation. Delicious. kkearn (1000), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours slightly hazy brownish gold, capped with a huge off-white head. Aroma is tart, with notes of straw, lemon, and wild yeast with wood and earth in the background. Flavor is beautiful; it’s quite tart and acidic, with lots of lemon at the forefront. Lime, white grape, straw, leather, oak and wild yeast add complexity to the palate. Finishes very dry, with oak and bretty funk. This was beautiful; I’m really glad I got to try it.

Big lasting head, clumps together as iit sinks. Dark gold-amber liquid. Big sharp sinus clearing salt-cheese-gueze scent. Sharp flavour but not overly cheesy or salty. Don’t notice the ABV. Hard to believe this beer is so old.! The flavour is so fresh. Dickinsonbeer (3449), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA

Pours a beautiful deep golden with lively carbonation and a massive sticky white head- fades slowly. Aroma is very powerful at first with the high carbonation- lemon zest, tropical fruit, mineral- sauvignon blanc, champagne like, bready malts, good horsey yet cleanish funk along with some moderately smelly cheese- mushroom- truffle oil, and vegetable ash as it warms a bit. More cheese and tropical fruits in the flavor, some horsey and leathery funk with mineral earth tones, lemon and lime juice- citric acid acidity, lactic and moderately sour the whole way through- nothing too mouth-puckering but definitely big and acidic. good acidic prickliness on the tongue in the end along with slight salt spray, lactic acid, and some woody astringent tones which work well. Awesome- big, and complex- very powerful. Awesome. Compared side by side to the 50th, 1999, and even the 2000 this still wins for me. Thanks again Ryan. Rciesla (3610), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Carbonation, wood, and all fruit notes and other accents excel here. Not an intense sour, but a great blended gueuze it is. Aging is working well as of 2/06/09.

Pours slight unclear orange amber with a good white lasting foam. Plenty of carbonation still. The aroma is smooth and mellow, Sour, dusty, acidic and grapes. Complex and wonderfully balanced. Barnyard and woody notes. Smooth and full bodied. Dry and crisp. So mellow, smooth and complex. Worth the wait, time and money. Hell yeah.
