4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
Amazing retention. Aroma is spectacular! "Thatís from the Challenger hops," said Armand. Iím the only one who uses them." Scents of rye flour, leather, sesame, biscuits and grandmaís attic. Taste is toasted dark bread, citrus and sesame breadsticks. Wonderful.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 20, 2014 Mikkeler SF opening A - pours darker clear golden amber, very low head. S - stronger than the 50th. So complex. Honey, jasmin, subtle mint, allspice and jerk spice. Musty oak, horse blanket, clover, lemon juice. M -so creamy so mellow and rounded. Lightly tart, watery but buttery body with a lightly tart in the end. T - clover, lemon and hotsebkanket lead the way. Quiet sweet lemon and pie crust, vinegar, musty oak on the palate, lingering tart notes, with simple darker sugars. O - so damn good complex and rounded. 9

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Smells of softly lactic sourness with a lot of funk. Notes of mint give it a slightly (though pleasant) acetone note.
Taste is tart, not as bracingly sour and sharp as a lot of gueuze. One of the best Iíve had the good fortune to try.
Pouts lightly golden with healthy carbonation that fades quickly. Mouthfeel is spot on.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle received in trade and broken out for our epic tasting. Pours a hazy orange in color with very little white head. Nose is reminiscent of the 50th Anniversary. It has a light minty element that Iím not that big of a fan of, but unlike the 50th, it has a good amount of backing lemon rind and funk. Flavor is very lemon forward, with only the smallest hint of the mint. There is a good amount of musty basement and cob web as well. Light mouthfeel, light carbonation, moderate to moderate heavy acidity, and a moderate finish. We sampled side by side with the í98 Oude Geuze and the Millennium blew it out of the water. Canít believe people say they donít like this.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared with a few beer buds.
poured a hazy yellow with off white head. smell of cheese funk, barnyard, hay and must.
flavor actually reminded me of blauw, except slightly more must. light lemon wheatiness that provides an incredibly balanced geuze.
this is a superior geuze, however, for the price id rather have two blauws than one millenium

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Corked bottle. Oak, grapefruit and bubblegum in the aroma. Oak, lemon, grapefruit, pineapple, honey and bubblegum in the still quite complex flavor. Rubber and plums in the aftertaste. Millennium shows signs of old age and tiredness, but nevertheless remains a great beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750mL bottle at Akkurat, pours a hazy golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is loaded with barnyard funk, some moderate horse blanket, and a big woody character. Flavour brings out a very woody character, with a shitload of barnyard funk, a little horse blanket, and lots of woody notes. Extremely woody and tannic -- perhaps the most woody and tannic lambic Iíve tried. Very soft, almost flat carbonation, with a very nice complexity. Could use a livelier carbonation to accentuate the complexity a little more. Perhaps a slight disappointment considering the rarity, hype and price tag. Still, a wonderful gueuze.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a clear dark gold body with a small fizzy white head that retained as a thin covering. The nose is quite funky with an oddball almost menthol like note. Light citrus rind, cellar funkiness, and light oak. The flavor is dry and super funky, zero acetic acid, just lots of depth and complexity. A little bit of light mineral flavor adds a bit of earthiness. Just a slight bit of cheesy funkiness to the finish. Mouthfeel is completely dry with a nice level of soft fizzy carbonation, especially given the age of this. Great long lingering dry finish. Pretty great beer, even after all this time. Drie Fonteinen never disappoints.
