4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
[Sampled January 2004] The aroma is fantastic; sour and wild fermentation at its best. The color is orange and it has a beutiful head. The flavor is sour yet sweet at the same time with strong notes of the wild fermentation. A fantastic beer.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Hazy golden with a fine little creamy off-white head leaving laces. Classic gueuze aroma of horse blanket and manure. Medium body with very dry Brett accents, fruitiness and even a light underlying bitterness. A very mellow gueuze which is pleasantly drinkable and not excessively sour. 211008

Bottled@Akkurat, Stockholm. Hazy orange colour, big white head. Aroma is sour fruits, earth and bigtime sourness. Flavour is really balanced wood, sourness and some dry & sour fruits. Really much wood and sourness in the finish and aftertaste.

3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Deep reddish golden with lively head. Citric acid and wood up front. Strikingly malty and full bodied for a geuze. Complex flavour with cobweb and grass. The mouthfeel is however a bit bold and clean. A very interesting beer, but if you really want a superb Drie Fonteinen, go for their Kriek van Schaarbeekse Krieken.

Bottle at Akkurat, Stockholm Beer Festival 2007, after festival RB night
Hazy golden color. Wonderful Gueuze, cellary, cobwebs aroma. Lasting flavor, bitter grapefruit peel, citrus fruits; medium sourness, astringent; then more of the cellar feeling comes in. Excellent.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2012 My 2300th rating: 75cl bottle. Bottled December 1998. Pours slight unclear orange amber with a good white lasting foam. Plenty of carbonation still. The aroma is smooth and mellow, Sour, dusty, acidic and grapes. Complex and wonderfully balanced. Barnyard and woody notes. Smooth and full bodied. Dry and crisp. So mellow, smooth and complex. Worth the wait, time and money. Hell yeah. Re-rate: Bottle @ Too many geuze’s only one toilet, Ulfborg 2012. Mould and cellar. Aged. Barnyard and dust. Subdued and smooth. If you have a bottle drink it now!
