750ml bottle, vintage 1998
Consumed at de Heeren van Lindekerke, Denderleeuw, May 2006 (8 years cellared)

Beautifully perfect glowing murky soft orange colored body, with a large puffed head and considerable lacing. Very fresh smelling, with a raw grain and wheat scent, a musty nose of wheat, horseblanket, straw, festive spices. Tremendously appetizing aroma. Flavor is juicy, fruity (sweet), tart, spicy, spirtzy. Finish is juicy, wet, salivating... tingling... this is like a liquid massage for the tongue. I don’t care how stupid that sounds, it’s true. Lingering aftertaste is oily and smooth... this geuze is not too aggressive, but it works without having to be... it’s incredibley delicious, and salivating - that’s the word that kept coming to mind... like I could never stop drinking this geuze because it makes me thirsty for more with each sip. One of the best.

RBSG 2008. Another amazing treat, big thanks to who brought these. Earthy gueuze, cheese and citrus in the nose. Soft leather, barny-funktastic, dry with a mellow sourness and acidity. These age so well, just mellow and delicious.

RBSG ’08: Huge thanks to the guy who brought this. I never thought I would get this one and it was sure worth the wait. Poured a hazy yellow color with a small white head. The aroma is all of why I love the style. Tart citrus and tart leather. Yum yum. The flavor was sour and acidic but crisp on the finish. Nice yeaty leather funk. Refill please.

RBSG ’08. Sampled at the Grand Tasting at Pizza Port Carlsbad. This was another awesome standout of the tasting. Murky yellow color with a ring of white head. Nice acidic aroma with some grain. Very smooth. Great flavor with a satisfying tart finish. Really easy to drink with a touch of oak. Great!

Courtesy of Dunk at RBSG. Huge thanks to Steve for sharing this rare gem! Pours a cloudy gold orange color, with a swirly and foamy white head. Smells of sweet tannic fruits, lots of 3 Fonteinen sourness Ive known to grow and love, and acidity. The flavor was, of course, much the same. The acidity wasnt as sharp as osme of their beers, but it was definitely there. Still quite sour, and not chowing any signs of dying down due to age at all. Tannic fruits line the edge ofthe tongue as the cheeks pucker. Pretty brilliant brew.
