Put up straight against 2011 Oude Geuze. This is way better with less bite. Lemony tree, fluffy, fresh leather, light vinegar, funk, thoughts of cherry, smells soft and so wonderful. The taste is so wonderful. Light bite of vinegar and random harshness, lemon, funk and moderate sourness, leather, water. Incredibly smooth an mellow. So much good.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Cirrhosis (1073) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 8, 2013
Cork exploded off the bottle the second the cage was taken off. Light brown body lots of haze complete tall rocky cap. Smell is funky!!! Moderate sour, lemons, funky awsome wood, old shed dust. Taste is same. I normaly crap on the style for being completly undrinkable but this one even I can drink. I still taste tonic and bile ( reminds me of my batchalor party aftermath ). A tart sweetness lingers on the lips. Best of the style I’v ever had!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 mcberko (4056) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 5, 2013
Bottle at Sour & Bitter #2, pours an opaque cloudy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma of extremely fragrant barnyard funk, low horse blanket, some light peaches, very low acidity, and low tartness. Flavour is classic 3 Fonteinen barnyard funk, medium acidity, which is more than normal for 3 Fonteinen (perhaps that’s the Lost Abbey influence?), and loads of wild yeast. Exceedingly complex, with medium-high acidity, and lower-than-normal funky quality for a gueuze. A slight variation from the classic 3 Fonteinen gueuze quality, but no less impressive. Highly drinkable and a world class lambic.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 yngwie (10760) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - APR 30, 2013
Bottle, 75cl corked. It’s an unclear, golden-orange beer topped by a big, white, diminishing head. Lemon juice, barnyard, leather, wheat notes and some woody hints in the aroma. Really pleasant and complex. Acidic and dry, effervescent, with lots of funkyness in the flavor. Lemon juice and a faint bitterness in the very end. A pleasant one indeed, sure looking forward to have this again. 120914

750ml green bottle, corked. Bottle is dated 2011/02/17. Hazy golden coloured brew, pours with quite a large foamy cap that settles to a small layer of white foam on top with a tight creamy bead. Nose has bright acidic lemon notes. Tate is lemony, tart, sour. Some great funkiness in the finish, light woody note, long lingering lemony tang, then total dryness. Medium body with lots of carbonation. Bright and vibrant gueuze.

Bottle - Lemon, pineapple, grass, hay and the usual funk. Very fruity and well balanced with the funk. Cloudy orange with a frothy white head. Pretty sour and tart, prickles the back so the tongue and throat. Sour grape, straw and not nearly as fruity as the nose. Nice.

750ml corked bottle pours a hazy golden orange color with a huge white head that retains well leaving some spotted lacing upon settling. Aroma is lemon zest and grass with some cereal grains. Taste is a pronounced lemony sourness with a grassy hop bitterness. Medium bodied with generous carbonation. Flavors are well balanced making this one of the better lambics I have sampled to date.
