Bottle @ Grote Dorst. Pours a clear light golden beer with a very big off white head on top. Aroma has massive barnyard funk, leather touches, white fruits, wood and vineous characters. Flavor is medium tarty, lots of ripe fruit, funky funkiness, some moldy characters. Definitely held up well during the years of aging. Long dry finish, medium tart ending. Great stuff.

Corked 75 cl bottle @ home. Pours cloudy amber with a white head that leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma and flavour are lemons, brett, wood, leather, hay, and a little tartness - with a smooth finish.

Bottle shared with oakbluff. Dark gold with a bit of haze and strong carbonation. Classic 3F aromas of barnyard funk, herbs, and lemon juice. Clean and concentrated acidic lemon flavor mixes with fresh mozzarella and kitchen herbs. Bone dry with a cleansing acidic finish. Another masterpiece from 3F.

Bottle thanks to Seb! Pours a solid golden color with a frothy white head and tiny bubbles. Nose is lemon rind, lime, and stale orange juice. Taste is lively with funk, mineral, mint, lime and some cheese on the end. Light bodied with high carbonation. A delicious geuze blend!

Bouteille 75cl, bottled 2011/02/17.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2015 Bottle split 5 ways, cork opens with a huge pop. Light amber pour with some lacings on top. Green apples, lemon peel, leather, oak, vanilla, apple skin and some barnyard notes. Nice and mellow! Liked this one slightly better than OGV ’08.

Bottle. Semi hazy dark amber pour, with a white head. Aroma is very pungent funk, it burns the back of the nose with horse blanket and hay. Flavors of lemon grass, wet hay, green apple, leather, white grape, white vinegar, oak, wheat grain, and sourdough. Complex and delicious.

Bottle, 2011/02/17. Pours clear dark golden with an enormous head receding to a creamy two finger thickness. Quintessential gueuze aroma, with brett and barnyard, an amazing assortment of berries, wooden barrels and corn fields stretching from here to eternity. Lovely! Full body with quite soft carbonation. Flavour is, well… nice, sour and complex. Here’s sour fruits with green apples and grapes, nice bretty notes and hay, with a lingering astringent finish.
