750ml bottle. Pours a hazy medium amber, with a large white head, which lasts very well and leaves good lacing. The aroma has a very strong sour funk character, with plenty of weighty, savoury oak, off-dry lime and some almost rose-like floral notes. It is powerfully sour up front, with lemon, tart apple skin and black cardamom notes. A funky, leathery flavour comes in towards the mid-palate, which gains weight and body from savoury, tannic oak. Fresh, biting sourness combines with the oak in a dry finish, which leaves an oaky, leathery aftertaste. This is simply a superb beer, even better than the standard Oude Gueuze. It is powerfully sour, yet beautifully weighted and balanced. A delightful, complex gueuze.

Bottle thanks to Aaron. Pours a cloudy orange with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong funk, feet, barnyard, oak. Thin mouthfeel with nice tart fruit and funk with light brett and oak. Really enjoyed this one, very impressive.

Traditional geuze made from old Boon lambic and old 3 Fonteinen lambic, among others. Stable, snow white head, cloudy orangey blonde colour, warm. Complex aroma of apple peel, wine vinegar, sour cream, kiwi, wheat, sherry, wet hay, lemon juice and lambic barnyard funkiness. Sharp citric acid in onset, not wry, beautifully rounded, sweaty and hay-like impressions, palate tending more towards a more gentle lactic acidity in the finish with some dry, leafy hoppiness, refreshing and very thirst-quenching, complex. Another masterpiece from one of my favorite lambic producers.

25.4 oz bottle. Clear honey brown with brief white foam. Nose is bubblegum, leather, wet hay, lemon, stone fruit and pasture. Crisp and acidic but softening then dry. Taste is green apple, honeydew, herb stems, leather, flower petals, lime zest and citrus honey. Wild depth of flavor like a spring walk ending in a raspberry patch.

Pour is dark amber with strong haze, lots of tight bubbly off white head. Nose is huge, so funky, tons of Cobb web and dusty notes with a bit of mineral and some juicy tangerine in the back. Taste isnít quite as funky but still quite so. Dusty funk, lots of cob web, notes of mushroom. Light mineral notes with the juicy tangerine through the finish with a light sourness, strong carbonation and a moderately dry finish.

Hazy orange with a large creamy white head. Aroma is grape skins, citrus zest, dry white wine. Medium-full bodied, nice complex sourness on the palate. Flavours are grape skins, dry white wine, hint of citrus zest. So smooth.

Bottle: Many thanks, Ed. Cloudy, nearly opaque amber-orange, vibrant body with a chunky & super-foamy, brittle white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is... whoa! Funky as HELL. Musty sweatsocks, damp cheesecloth, funky horseblanket, mild cheese, sweaty feet... Wow. Balanced nicely, however, by a large lemon & stone fruit sourness with a puckering acidity thatís noticeable from the smell alone. Very woody & earthy back-end. Taste hits with that apple skin, stone fruit, & borderline lemon sourness up front, jolting your taste buds. Lots of wet oak & funky wood with a huge back-end of funk, funk, FUNK. Cheesy funk, sweaty funk, musty funk. Barnyard floor, dirty feet, sweaty horses... Perfect balance with the tartness, nice level of acidity. Bone dry finish. Itís like Armandís version of Cantillonís Cuvťe des Champions, only this is exceedingly better. A fantastic gueuze, absolutely delicious.

Bottle at home. Bottled 2011. Pours a hazy light amber colour with a huge, soapy, beige head. Very carbonated. Compact aroma with fruity vinegar, forest floor, sour wild berries, spices, some horse citrus and oak. Very sour at first with lots of citric acid and lemon. Towards the end more sweet fruit and berries comes forward. In addition thereís some nutty and earthy tones. Has a slick and sparkly mouth feel, and a medium grape skin bitterness. A solid and sour gueuze but the flavour is less complex than expected from a promising aroma.

Bottle: The aroma consists of citrus, sweaty feet, cheese, light dust, and musty basement. It pours a hazy orange/amber with a two finger head that eventually fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. The flavor starts with moderate citrus and lemon. The finish has some funky notes, oak, must, and a touch of floral notes. Itís light bodied with moderate-lively carbonation. Overall, really tasty and probably one of the most funky Drie Fonteinen beers Iíve had.

Bottle. Very aggressive head, orange town pour with white head. Tart, oak, funk and fruit aromas. Body is highly carbonated for a gueze, nice tart gueze like finish.

Very tart. Sour front with some vinegar with a rubber compound aroma. Tasty, some nice penny and sharp spiced grass. Somewhat gassy flavour. Tastes like touching a 9V to your tongue. Wild and fun. Love it.
