COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Golden Blend is made with 4 year old Lambic that accounts for 25 % of it’s contents, the rest of the blend is made up by a "secret" combination of 1, 2 and 3 year old Lambic.

The exact mixture is only known by the master-blender Armand himself.

The name "Golden Blend" is not far away from the truth, in fact, the 4 years of maturation in oak-wooden barrels is making this particular Lambic very expensive.

Due to the "evaporation" through the barrels, only a small percentage of the lambic is left over after 4 years of maturing.

Bottled sample. Gold in colour with a bit of haze and strong spritzy carbonation. Typical 3F aromas of dried wooden barrel, lemon peel and funk, along with a faint floral note. Flavors are of driftwood, lemon, white pepper, funk, and more delicate florals. Light bodied with firm sourness and acidity. Great complexity and potency.

(375ml 2011 bottle @ Akkurat, shared with my lovely girlfriend Jan 4 2015) Pours slightly hazy gold with a huge white head and no lace, gusher that the server had to struggle with (cork miraculously missed several people in its cross-bar flight). Aroma of lemon-lime soda flavours, big musty dry hay and serious big wood notes, earthy barnyard and slight cheese. Not sour really, slight tart. Palate is more tart, nice lemon, lime, some orange juice, touches of sour pear, good fruit up front. Dries a ton towards the finish, tastes like an olive tree smells (or something!), big woody flavour and bitter hops. Aftertaste is very long and bone dry, astringent tannic wood and almost mineral in a heavy way. Medium full in the mouth with active but moderate carb. I really like what the 4 year lambic did to this beer, the woody tones combined with lighter malts make for a fairly intense but dry gueuze with little sourness.

Not as intensely sour or flavorful as some Fonteinen beers, but still excellent. Yellow color. Aroma of sour yeast up front with some dry hops. Sour flavor too, also some hops here. it seems to have more hops than most gueuze. Great beer.

Butelka 0.375L.
Wygląd: Bursztynowe, mętne. Biała piana, średnio i wielko pęcherzykowa.
Aromat: Intensywny, dziki, palona guma, ostro fenolowe, aż ciężko to wąchać z bliska.
Odczucie: Wysokie wysycenie, ciało niskie, faktura papierowa.
Smak: Dzikie ,lekko kwaśne, palona guma. Kwaśność bardzo krótka. Goryczki nie ma. Posmaki fenolowe, palonej gumy
Całość: Bardzo specyficzne, aż ciężko wąchać przez intensywny aromat. Prawdopodobnie muszę się bardziej z tym stylem obyć, żeby docenić.

Pour in a plastic cup for sipping on the train. Pours amber with a good head. The nose shows a lot of tart brett funk - along with some apricots and slight citrus. The palate shows a lot of the same. The tartness intensity on this beer is absolutely perfect. I caught myself downing this beer a lot faster than most sour beers.Highly recommend if you’re looking for a sour but not something terribly tart.

Poured clear medium amber with a frothy off white head. Aroma of zesty, tart gueuze. Medium body, flavour is nicely acidic and tart, very refreshing and more-ish. A nice New Year treat.

750ml bottle pours a pale brown color with a bit of froth. Tar aroma that takes a little to get used to. Medium sourness, and mild oakiness with some tar. Interesting beer, but very enjoyable.

375ml bottle from Beautiful Beers online. Deep golden amber colour, foam off-white head and aroma of lemon rind, funk, woody, honey. Taste is zesty citrus rind, tangy fruity with sweetish caramel, woody oak and barnyard notes. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry sour finish. Really well balanced and very drinkable.

Bottle dated 2011/02/17, 1400th rate!! Cork came off like a rocket with the loudest bang I’ve heard, pours a clear golden with a huge off-white head. Mellow aroma, light straw and horse blanket, oak and caramel sugar. Enjoyable sweetness of oak in the taste, with a heft of spice white pepper, tart fruits peach citrus, sour and funky. Delicious!
