COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Golden Blend is made with 4 year old Lambic that accounts for 25 % of itís contents, the rest of the blend is made up by a "secret" combination of 1, 2 and 3 year old Lambic.

The exact mixture is only known by the master-blender Armand himself.

The name "Golden Blend" is not far away from the truth, in fact, the 4 years of maturation in oak-wooden barrels is making this particular Lambic very expensive.

Due to the "evaporation" through the barrels, only a small percentage of the lambic is left over after 4 years of maturing.

375ml bottle from West Lakeview. Pours a golden amber color with a big, fluffy white head. Aroma is lemon, musty, funky, oak. Medium on the palate with lively carbonation. Flavor is sour, lemon, oak, Earthy, a little yeasty, with a tart, dry finish. Good, but I like other Gueuzes more, especially considering the price.

Bottle - Vintage 2011 - Tons of white grape, pear, peach and tons of funk. Cloudy gold with a decent frothy white head. Tart vinous notes, light pear and fruit. So very well balanced and tartness is in check. Great.

Like a sharp and snappy gueuze. Big and wonderful 3F yeast with crackery grapefruit and meaty yeast texture. Sweet and sour finish. Cloudy golden pour with good head and lacing. Light bitterness. Comes together wonderfully. Great balance. Bottle pour at Churchkeys 5th.

Golden color with a white head that quiclkly dissapears. Barmyard aroma with some fruity notes. Flavor has notes of wood, mild bittery, bretts are also present and vinegar mouthfeel. Fruity final with a mild acidic sensation on the palate.

375ml bottle served in a Kriek Flute glass. Corked bottle from 2011. Valid until 2021. A: Pours a nice orange clear color forming a huge white to yellow head. Very bubbled. Excellent retention and tons of lacings left in the glass. Body is very carbonated and you can see a lot of bubbled popping from the bottom of the glass S: Lambic like in the nose. VERY fruity and tart. Notes of apples, white grapes and pears. Sweet grains, Lambic yeasts, a little bit metallic. Light notes of wood T: Absolutely great. Amazingly Geuze. Very well balanced sweetness/sourness. More acid than the traditional gueuze. Upfront is slightly sweet and grainy but very fruity with notes of apples and white grapes. Vinegar. Bit metallic. End is intense Lambic yeasts M: Light body, high carbonation. Such a pleasure. Sour and vinegar aftertaste O: Excellent drinkability. Perfect Geuze! [ BA Review @ 12/22/2012 ]

"This is a bit overpriced these days, at more than twice as much as the regular geuze (which ainít cheap to begin with) but damn if it ainít one of the best-in-style Iíve had. Oddly more clarity of color in this 4 year blend then the 3. Hands down better. Cleaner yet funkier with a livlier aroma, flavor, and feel."

Vintage 2011 bottle at home. Without even touching the Cork it blew meters away. No gusher, just a lot of carb. Poured a deep amber clear colour with a white head. The citrus and barnyard aromaís explode while pouring. Citrus, lot of oak, sour fruits, Nice tart mouthfeel, barnyard, flowers, Nice sour finish. With a small spice in the aftertaste. Really complex beer!

Bottle at home. The colour is slightly hazy orange with nearly no head. Aroma of oak, forest floor, citric acid, horse, rowanberries and hints of pepper. Balanced sour flavour with a dry and oaky tones that lasts. Sweet, fruity flavours in the background. Has a slick and rich mouth feel, and a light berry bitterness. A solid gueuze, and the years after bottling have made this a balanced and pleasant lambic.

Pours amber with a lasting head. Noes shows heaps of funk, elderflower, horseblanket, lemon pith, kumquat, fruit confectionery and orange peel. Amazing. flavours include elderflower, lemon juice, citrus pith, peach and a big, bold acidity. Lots of funk. Nice high carbonation.
