bluebetty (88), Australia Nov 2, 2009 Bottle. Dec 2007. Pur is deep cherry. Small pinkish head that disappears very quickly. Miniaml carbonation. Aroma shows heaps of cherries, almonds and plenty of funky sourness. Flavours are very tart with some sweet cheery. Good sour on the finish. Mouthfeel is spot on. Great beer stouby (1931), Holbaek, Denmark Oct 19, 2009 Bottle at home.
Cherry incolor with a light rose head. Aroma moderate fruity (cherries, wood) and sour. Flavor light sweet, moderate sour/acidic. Light body. OK. zach8270 (2051), Henrietta, New York, USA Oct 14, 2009 (bottle - corked & caged 375 ml - 2007 vintage) Rating #2000. Red pour with a fizzy pink head. Aroma is sour cherries with a light touch of sweetness, some good sour funk, and a touch of damp wood. Flavor is very tart and sour at the beginning with a very mild hint of good tart cherries. A nice sour note stays through the flavor and lingers on the tongue. Really nice and will probably only improve with more age. hallinghansen (263), Odense SV, Denmark Oct 14, 2009 Bottle. Clear red body. with a small pink head. Aroma is cherries, sour and wood. Flavor is the same. Very soft and gently, I need some dust and basement. corby112 (671), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 6, 2009 Pours a very dark deep ruby red color with a thin fizzy pinkish head that quickly dissipates into a very thin lasting ring.
Tart funky aroma with a lot of barnyard funkiness, horseblanket and sweet sour cherries. Sweet smelling from the fruit countered by the earthy oak wood character.
Funky sour tart intensity up front that is puckering and mouthwatering but also very acidic. Again the sweetness of the cherries are organic and not artificial or syrupy. This sweetness is balanced by the very funky tart notes and the earthy wooden oak. Tmoney99 (4652), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Sep 28, 2009 Corked Bottle from Keg Liquor.
Poured a hazy red color with an average frothy reddish head that mostly lasted with good lacing.
Moderate cherry yeasty aroma.
Medium body with a dry texture and lively carbonation. Medium sweet & sour flavor with a medium sour finish of moderate duration.
This beer met my expectations. DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Sep 27, 2009 [9/8/08] Bottle at Le Poechenellekelder in Brussels. Bottled 12/07. Deep Red color with a big, quickly-diminishing, pink head. Aroma of fresh cherries, some cheese notes, barnyard and medicinal notes. Sour cherries flavor with some lemon, some sourish candy notes, light medicinal quality notes and finishes with some astringency. A good kriek. JulienHuxley (165), Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada Sep 24, 2009 Bottle. Great looking beer dark ruby, slightly hazy with thin pink head. Aroma is hay and sour cherries. Taste is quite sour but surprisingly fruity as well. Sparkling mouthfeel with a dry finish.
