Bright red/pink pour, fully diminishing fizzy pink/beige head. Aroma is sour cherry, oak, barnyard funk, dusty earthiness, peppered with lightly toasty malts. Flavor is more of the same, citric centered throughout, uncompromising in its sour attributes and funky layers. Palate is ever so slightly oversweetened, mouthfeel is medium and syrupy, stinging with intense sour notes. A sharp acidity encompasses all these flavors and leaves a dry finish, prolonged by sweet and tart cherry residues. This is an excellent traditional kriek that would benefit from a thicker mouthfeel and more subtle complexities. Otherwise it’s very good, a beer to quiet the naysayers.

(sampled at the Düsseldorf RB gathering) Hazy, red coloured with a short pink frothy layer. Light sweet and tart fruity aroma of cherries and bitter almonds. Moderately sour flavour, light bodied with a smooth and pleasant carbonation. Sour-fruity lambic-character, dry and tart, slightly astringent finish.

Bottle. 12/02/2005. Deep red color with a brite pink head. Tart cherry aroma with a note of cobwebs. Tart cherry flavor with a slight bar-b-que note. Nice dry finish. A very clean and nice beer.

Bottle: Reddish purple with a small pink head. Aroma tart cherries. Flavor, very acidic, sour cherries, very little carbonation. Some funk to it. Good but the sourness was just a bit too sharp for me.

05 vintage bottle. Dark translucent red color with a small light red head. Sharp phenol with a fruity, almondy tartness and turning hay in the aroma. Cherry skin and cherry stone flavors float atop a deeper citric acid component. Barnyard flavors, horsey and wet hay manifest greater in the finish, with a lasting astringent tart cherry flavor. Mouthfeel is a medium light, rather dry.

Bottle. Medium pink head with medium duration. Color is ruby red. Aroma is powerful with lots of cherry. Taste is acidic and sour with some cherry.

Poursa very lovely bright cherry red color with a thin pink head, which makes it look very inviting to drink. very sour in the smell. Get light fruits in there as well. Very acidic, but not overwhelming. The fruits balance it out well, so the sourness doesnt overpower you. Extremely well done lambic.

Bottle, 375 ml. Red colour with a small pink head. Charming harsh sour aroma with elements of grape fruits and sour berries. Balanced acidic flavour, with berries in the finish. Best lambic I’ve had.
