COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Kriek 3 Fonteinen is produced by ripening of cherries (both the flesh and the seeds) in young Lambic. This process takes between 6 to 8 months. After bottling the beer matures for at least 4 months in a warm room where the spontaneous fermentation in the bottle is done.
The head of Oude Kriek is very sensitive to the concentration of the cherry seeds containing oil and may differ from one year to the other.
On old Cherry 3 Fonteinen, no flavorings, sweeteners, or dyes added which makes this beer very natural and is especially thirst quenching.

Note: Recent labels may show the beer to contain 35% of Schaerbeekse Krieken.

2011 bottle thanks to tectactoe for sharing. Cloudy reddish-pink pour with a small fizzy head that fades away quickly. Aroma is sour cherry funk, cherry jam, light barnyard, and light cider. Tastes a little yogurt-y. Big tart and sour cherry. Barnyard in the finish. Ultra dry and tart. Very low carb. Really nice aroma but just not a big fan of everything else.

75cl bottle, 2010 vintage. Dark red, clear, still, small white head . Aroma - cider, cherry, lemon, metal, cold cooked chicken, slight chocolate. Body - light, spritzy, tooth coating. Taste is very tart sour lemon, oversweet. Overall - the aroma was quite nice but lambics just aren’t for me.

Bottle June 6, 2013. Slightly hazy bright red pour. Nose is sour cherries, with wine notes and subtle oak. Flavor is very tart and dry upfront with sour cherries being the showcase on this one. Some slight oak but the cherries just dominate this one. Dry and sour. Not bad at all.

ElManana (207) - Scheldewindeke, BELGIUM - MAY 17, 2014
Bottled. Hazy purple pink colour with good condition and a noisy pale pink head. Restrained aromas of cherry almond and fireworks, in the mouth it threatens sourness but somehow manages to avoid vinegar notes. Again the cherry flavour is understated, almost an afterthough. Finish is long refreshing and dry. Like sucking a piece of leather, but thats good.
