3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 MattH (388) - California, USA - DEC 2, 2011
12.7 oz bottle. Red pour with a two inch whitish red head. Aroma of cherry cough syrup and fresh sour cherries. Flavor is predominately sour and bitter with some notes of oak and cherry. Beer is very dry and after every sip it seems to suck the moisture out of the tongue. The carbonation is heavy and the body is light to medium.

37.5 cL bottle poured from ABS Drinks Winksele into a Westmalle glass at home. Very dark red with almost no head. The aroma is of cherries and also acidic/lambic. Acidic, sour and dry, but still quite nice.
4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20 traPISSED (87) - , NORTHERN IRELAND - OCT 25, 2011
75cl bottle at home, 1996 vintage. This bottle was corked, capped and very dusty. The cork was very long...so long that I lost the end of it into the beer. The pour produced a crystal clear bright ruby beer with still a huge amount of colour remaining (almost as much as a new bottle). The smell was fantastic! No oxidisation at all and I mean none!! It smelled of cinnemon, nutmeg, clove and cherry. Almost like a christmas spiced beer. Everyone that tried it said that they had never experienced a Kriek with such a christmas flavour. As we went down the bottle the sourness was more pronounced and the pours where becoming very murky. There was a huge amount of sediment in this bottle. This may well be the most gracefully aged beer Ive ever had. Everyone agreed that it could easily last another 10 years.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 beernbourbon (995) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 17, 2011
Bottle. Pour is striking deep cranberry red with a thin pink head. Aroma is old socks, funk, acetic tartness, light berry/ cherry, and a touch of hay. Very straight forward fruit lambic aroma. Flavor is delightfully tart with significant berry notes and just enough sweetness to make this really well balanced. Flavor is less funky and more tart than the aroma. This is great!
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 41cubs (239) - , New Jersey, USA - OCT 15, 2011
Aroma is dairy acid, raw cranberry and old peppermint candy. Flavor is this sickening tartness that seems rancid and vomit like and not bright at all. There is a muted citrus sourness that almost hides until it hits the back of your mouth and develops into a lingering extremely dry, tacky finish. There is more of a cranberry flavor in the front. I don’t get any cherry in this at all, if anything maybe some cherry pits. This is flat out not good beer. This is some good olive oil, salt and cracked pepper short of a nice vinaigrette. I’ll save the pretending to like something for the sake of sophistication for the oenophiles. Maybe this or my tastebuds need ample time to develop. Thank You 3 Fonteinen. April 2011. 12.7 oz. bottle.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 dreamflower (189) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - SEP 14, 2011
Bottle shared with northropfrye. Smells of fermented cherries, with a sour tinge. Beautiful pink head. Taste is initially offputing with the sourness of it, but the flavour hits you with a pleasing cherry flavour. I was expecting it to be sweeter but when I got used to it I liked it a lot.
