COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Kriek 3 Fonteinen is produced by ripening of cherries (both the flesh and the seeds) in young Lambic. This process takes between 6 to 8 months. After bottling the beer matures for at least 4 months in a warm room where the spontaneous fermentation in the bottle is done.
The head of Oude Kriek is very sensitive to the concentration of the cherry seeds containing oil and may differ from one year to the other.
On old Cherry 3 Fonteinen, no flavorings, sweeteners, or dyes added which makes this beer very natural and is especially thirst quenching.

Note: Recent labels may show the beer to contain 35% of Schaerbeekse Krieken.

Smak och doft av röda bär, körsbär, hallon, jäst, vinäger, trä, ladugård. Syrlig, lagom sötma, välbalanserad, torr med fin efterbeska. Riktigt uppfriskande.

Bottled. Pours deep red with an average, pink head. Aroma of brett, notes, barnyard, sherry and cherries. Slightly sweet flavor that ends up dry and a little tart. Medium body, watery to oilytexture and soft carb, A very nice and smooth Fruit Lambic.

Bottled Dec 2006. Poured flat with no head. Aroma is woody, sherry-like with only slight fruit aroma. Appearance is very deep brown-red. Tastes medium sour with a woody, fruity taste, much like a balsamic vinegar. Medium body slightly oily, no real carbonation with a long, sweet and sour finish. Overall this is a very Interesting beer. Cherry flavouring has deepened and mellowed, making this like a tawny port rather than a beer. The sourness is also still there, but again has deepened and lengthened without losing it’s edge. A pretty special beer for special occasions that makes you think about beer in a very different way.

Dimmig, ljust oxblods färgad med ett rött skum. Doft: Vinäger, funk, jord, stall. Smak: Vinäger, funk, hallon-lakrits skalle, körsbärs kompott av sura körsbär.

Small bottle from State Line Liquors. Dark red pour with a small head. Nice cherry nose with a bit of earth and funk. Surprisingly sweet for these guys, but certainly not too much so. Bright, tart, cherry flavor on the palate. Light and effervescent. Nice balance of sweetness and tartness. Very, very good.

100th review, had it at Brewers Beer Bar, Gothenburg. Pours deep hazy red, a minor pink ring on the surface. Aroma is cherries, oak, wood, some sugar hints, funk, slight tarty vinegar hint. Taste is initially sour cherries up-front with a careful sweeter side coming along. Oak, horse blanket, vinegar in the back. Funky but not overly so. Dry finish. Medium body, soft to medium carbo. Nicely balanced.

Truly red bear without real top. Lemon syrup at first, but then the yeast and earthiness of the lambic kick in. Towards the (long) finish the cherries pop up and some dryness, probably from the seeds. Nice beer.

Pours a hazy red, not unlike a red wine vinegar. A Belgian yeast aroma is quickly knocked out by a heavy acetic presence and a plethora of tart cherries and raspberry highlights. The drinker is battered by a mouth puckering combination of acidic sourness, heavy carbonation and a dry finish. Again the sour acidic components of this beer ride front and centre of the initial taste, however after a few mouthfuls it starts to reveal a pleasant medium bodied red wine like fruitiness.

Bottle. Dark red, brown colour, pink, red head. Aroma of mixed sweet and tart cherries, funky Belgian aromas. In taste very cherry, sweet on start with sour on finish, barnyard, oaky?, low biterness, tart, dry finish. Great beer.
