maeib (4106), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Dec 18, 2004 Bottled. A very disappointing kriek for me. Bright red lambic with no head, the aroma had those barnyard experiences mixed with a bit of smoky ashtray, but absolutely no fruit. The taste was very acidic and dry but again there was no discernible fruit. For me an average lambic coloured red but with the fruit missed out.
Travlr (115), Washington, Washington DC, USA Nov 28, 2008 750 ml bottle. Deep ruby red, very effervescent. Deep sour cherry flavor with good complexity. Dry finish. chicagodri (634), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 27, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear ruby red with no head. Musty, funky cherries dominate the aroma. Very tart and dry. Nice sour, acidic finish. Good. ChainGangGuy (1721), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Nov 27, 2008 Bottling Date: 02 December 2005
Appearance: Pours a purple-red body with a thinnish, bubbly, pinkish head.
Smell: A musty, funk-scented blend of cherry and strawberry preserves that’s plenty moldy and plenty acidic with a note of cheese that is well past its prime.
Taste: Tart, sweetish cherries with a spoonful of strawberry jelly are greeted by a pinch of salt and a jolt of acidity. Punchy sourness. Hints of soggy leather and topsoil alongside some tough phenolics. Finishes rather dry with a hint of decaying wood.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. An initial flourish of carbonation, then it mellow out into a moderate carbonation level.
Drinkability: A fine fruit lambic, but, in all honesty, it makes me more than wistful for another dose of that Hommage. EricE (293), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Nov 19, 2008 Deep ruby red pour with a thin white head. Funky vinegar aroma with lots of acidity. Very sour flavor, perfect for my tastes. Some cherry. Excellent kriek. BOLTZ7555 (600), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Nov 19, 2008 Raspberry with a cotton-candy colored head. Very sour cherry skin, funk, and lemon zest aroma. Flavor is amazing...pungent, mouth watering, lip puckering goodness. Great mouthfeel...refreshing!!!
