4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Deep red body with a little orange ray, big pink head; The finest, most elegant aroma that can be found in a kriek: very fine pit-like marzipan, clear and deep notes of sour cherry; The body has a perfect a little sharp carbonation, a very fine a little soft texture, lots of fruit acids, backed by a little both lactic and acetic acid; It finishes long, again with lots of elegance and a very balanced fruity acidity, again lots of fruity aromas, but also a very little hay and cowshed. Incredibly fine beer! Sometimes I wonder; why go true the hassle and cost of getting all the "crazy" Geuze/Lambic/Krieks when you can drink something as fine as this, that is so easily obtainable and cheap.

75cl bottle, as schaerbeekse krieken. Bb. 26/02/07. Deep red, thin, almost no head. Barnyard, tart, cherries in aroma. Flavor has cherries, tartness, barnyard. Flat. Really tart, mouthdrying.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark red with beautiful small light pink head. Sour cherries, red berries, yoghurt, green apple, lime, cola flavoured candy, sourdough, touch of malts. Taste is fruity sour, which deepens into a very intense acidic sourness, then a light sweet aftertaste. Medium mouth, slick texture with perfect carbonation. Very good stuff.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
375 ml bottle to tulip (2005 vintage at The Porter in Hotlanta). Looks good; a transparent amberish caramel with razor-thin off-white lacing. Smells tart and funky with heavy cherry notes. Tastes like it smells with a nice, subdued mouthfeel. Good, but I probably should have opted for a fresher vintage.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
2011 bottle. Pours a clear red and fizzing with a quickly dissipating head, leaving a faint ring that hugs my glass. The aroma is of tart cherries, barrel aged wood, and grains. In taste I picked up on mild vinegar, acidic cherries, but also a sweet note from the cherries, and a diminished grain flavor. The finish is mildly sour but still a nice cherry flavor and in turn highly drinkable. Overall a very good beverage.

Bottle share with kermis @ Klooster. Pours deep red with a white head. Funky sour aroma with cherry hiding in the background. Tart, sour taste with a wonderful cherry finish

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep ruby red vinous color with a finger of off pink fizzy foam. The nose is full of cherry pie, acidic vinous touches and some funky dusty wood. The palate follows with a nice balance between round cherry notes and cutting vinous acidity that rolls in midway through the palate and dries out the finish nicely with a slightly puckering finish. Lots of musty basement funk lingers...
