I’m very happy I got some bottles of this beer. Bottle looks great. Small cork that almost flew of the bottle when I tried to remove the wire. Very zippy in the glass, huge head. Dark copper-brownish. Sweet aroma. Starts very strong but not alcoholic, quite spicy with intense earthy-woody notes, hidden caramel, a little bit vanilla. Finish more sour without being to much. The sour notes fit perfect to the eartly spiciness. Very, very drinkable. I love this beer and it will be hard not to open the other bottles I have within the next week...

very happy to have found this one ! onley had one faro so far (being the lindemans) wich chocked me on how much i like it ! 3 fonteinen is my favourite sour by far, so those 2 combining? hell yeah ! and the pure luck to find this , even lifts my happiness and high expectations up ! opens very agresively ! twisting the metal cap makes the cork pop itself out already ! no gusher, though ( luck stikes again !) pours blonde-orange, imidiatly fading foam. great how insanely much smell this has ! definetly more sourness than the lindemans ( yeah i know, what a shock ) taste : waaw very sour ! that means, for a faro. kinda uncomparable with the other one i had ! this ’apple’ taste as i can onley desribe it ( aplle with the sourness of it) comes in the swallowing and first aftertase, followed by that .. typical 3 fonteinen-ish taste, and other apple taste. this drinks inb layers and is definetly very very nice ass well ! if this were available like lagers, i’d drink faro lake a lagerboy drinks lager , if they keep tasting this nice ! glad i didnt share the bottle :p

Brownish orange pour with a vivacious offwhite head. The aroma holds huge funk, must, and acidity, all balanced in the perfect proportions. The flavor is quintessential 3 Fonteinen balance with some puckering sweetness. Very low residual sugar levels. Ultra dry crisp palate with only the slightest lingering sweetness. Truely amazing.

0,75L corked bottle. Shimmering orange colored body, with a carpet of beige bubbles on top. Layers of aromas; Mild fruity acidity, port, wooden tones, faint vinegar and sourcream. Notes of mould and cellar. Taste is mostely fruity acidic and sour, but well rounded by a perfect amount of residual sugars from the malts. Nice vinous with tones of wood, spices and soft toasted malts. Suggestions of farmyard and cellar. Strong body. Smooth in the mouth. An utterly complex and perfctly balanced beer. I’m amazed, by far the best I have had in this genre.

January 08 bottling date. Monstrous thanks to sflpunk for this one. Cloudy teak colored pour with a very small bubbly head on the edges. Aroma holds awesome leathery funk, along with hay and lemon but on a darker lemon than, say, a gueuze. Also some phenomenal fruity tones, including orange marmalade and apricot jam. Flavor is impressively sour, with more huge barnyard presence that meshes with those fruity preserve notes closer to the end of the flavor. Added undertones of sweet cherry, candied sugar, and minerality contribute to a sensational complexity overall. Palate is wonderfully sour and sweet, with the perfection carbonatoin that is present but not sharp at the start and melts away later, yielding to the tartness. Absolutely awesome.

bottled 1/25/2008 sampled 1/9/11. pours in a cascade fashion... cherry brown at the top and pale yellowy brown at the bottom. aromas of cherries, apple cider, red wine vinegar, brown sugar, malty, floral, grass and cream cheese. the flavor is quite similar... floral, grass, minerals, cherries, wood and tart but not overly sour. crisp and terribly easy drinking (especially for 8%). well done. 9/4/9/5/18

Bottle shared with scottatron in brugge, Pours a dark blond colour, the taste is a really nice tarty sourness with the faro backing, overall this one is a winner, great offering

Riktigt riktigt god.
