On tap at Church Key. Pours a translucent dark brown/maroon with dark red hues when backlit. Head was faded by the time it arrived, but there was ample dark tan lacing on the glass. Aroma is light cocoa powder, funky fruit with banana notes, and yeast. Flavor is sour with complex chocolate, malt and fruity esters. Clean sour finish. I was reminded of the sour porter of New Glarus that I tried at GABF 09.

Very roasty with only a mild hint of the crackery trademark yeast. Some bitterness, some oak. Definitely comes together like you think a porter made by lambic producers would taste. Actually has some sweetness along with sourness. Thick palate and texture. Great. Tap at Chruchkey sour event.

(Rating #5590)
