Bottle from Beltramo’s in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is whiskey, dark cherries, mild chocolate / roasted malts. Taste is herbal, sour, slightly bitter. Unique. A fairly great synopsis of a Belgian, porter and sour.

33cl bottle. Dark brown/black colour with a nice beige head. Coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, barnyard, licorice, dates and smoke in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is complex but no so balanced with the sourness getting through at the finish and masking the roasted and chocolate notes. Overall, a good beer but could be better.

Deep dark brown pour with ruby highlights and moderate creamy tan head. Lots of roasty stout-like aromas - charred and roasted meat and espresso. The taste is also quite stout-like, with roasted red meat, a little charcoal, coffee, molasses, also with a bit of apple cider vinegar light sourness. Medium bodied and lightly acidic. Very interesting and quite enjoyable take on a stout/porter.

Bottle 330 ml, pours dark brown almost black with beige head. Aroma of coffee, vanilla, chocolate, butter caramel, nuts and somevnack fruits Taste is very good balanced with medium sweetness, light coffee bitterness and some delicate sourness. Full bodied, creamy and fruity at once. More a stout than a porter and besides the light sourness not much of a lambic, but still a nice mix of styles.

The thing about this dark beer is that with the lambic yeast, it pretty pretty much wipes out any porter flavor and aroma. So it’s a pretty good dark lambic that may have been a porter, but it seems very little like one now.

Black. Thin oily head. Dry. Slight banana. Is this a porter or a belgian? Tasted at Elijah Ps Monsters of Beer festival.
