Pours clear dark brown with a huge brown slowly dissipating head leaving some lacings. Aroma is sweet with cocoa, bitter chocolate, sweetish and roasted malt, coffee and a slight yeasty hint. Taste is malty, mostly sweet and roasted, with coffee and hints of cookies on one hand, on another itís fairly sour, and the sourness quite unexpectedly kicks in bigger and bigger and lingers until the very finish where some coffee meets up. Medium body, medium carbo, oily texture. Well, this was a most interesting porter, the sour touch made it very drinkable actually, as if it fits better to a spring afternoon rather than a dark winter night.

330ml bottle. Pitch black, with a medium tan head. Roasted and tart hits the nose. Flavor os tart, roasted malt, chocolate and some fruit. Medium dry finish. Quite ok, but could use a bit more of everything, sort of.

Bottle poured a dark cola color with a covering of brown head that hung on well. Aroma has dark chocolaty malts, mild roast, earth, and burnt coffee. Mouth feel is medium and the carbonation average. Flavor certainly has a dark roasted porter, chocolate, burnt coffee, mild wood, and a light sourness. I expected this to be sour first and a porter later but the base porter stands up strong on itís own and the sour side is more yeasty with earth.

Bottle: Black, purple-lit, with a craggy, frothy light brown head. Tart chocolate and yeast aroma....citrus. Taste is an interesting combination of citrus, yeast, and chocolate/cocoa. Porter, sour, Belgian ale all in one. ....it works.

"nice unique brew here. as a straight stout/porter, it would be very thin, but the body works with the flavor profile, which is light and complex. roasted malt, chocolate, funk, and ash. Same in the aroma. Very quaffable. Iíve been told like the Jolly Pumpkin Sour Stout light."

Has a decent, khaki, froth head, with a deep chestnut brown color. Aromas of syrup toffee and burned, wooden malts with coffee hints among them. Begins earthy, with wooden, rich malts, supported by a lively carbonation. Burned caramel notes get joined by a subtle coffee bitterness, resulting in a tart sour impression, due to an acidic brett infusion. The sourness interacts surprisingly well with the scorched, sweet notes of the brew. Bretts add an unusual complexity to the brew, which lets the sweeter components stand out even more, especially during the finish. The tastebuds get shaked pretty hard on this flavor-rollercoaster, which combines opposite tastes. The finish itself isnít relying that much on toffeeish malts as a regular porter, but implies a sugar powder note, with a subtle fruity addition, while a gentle sourness still saves a spot on the palate.
