On tap @Erzbierschof’s -- dark with medium persistant beige head. Aroma is ’stouty’, coffee, hints of chocolate. Flavor is similar but covered by sourness. It is light to medium bodied. Alcohol is hidden. Easy to drink. An unusual experience!

bottle from kappldav123. Dark amber brown colour, fluffy beige head. Sourish fruity nose. Enough malty sweetness not to make it too tart, with fruity accents, some cocoa and wild yeasty flavours. Good stuff.

Mild säuerlicher Antrunk mit malziger Basis. Dabei ist die Säuerlichkeit frisch und konstant in der Intensität. Röstig, leicht bitter. 12/12/11/11/8/11

Very surprising beer. A sour porter. The porter character is less heavy and creamy than expected. Sour beer with a black strong body. Impressing.

Beautiful dark brown color with small head. Aroma is tart and lambic-like, but also lots of malts and cinnamon. Taste is sweetish-sour, combined with malty, dark flavours, and a dry finish. I like this combination very much!

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2014 33cl bottle from Erzbierschof. A dark porter made with spontaneous fermentation sounds like an interesting experiment indeed. The sour and sparkly lambic feel is there but not dominant, giving the usual porter (that I actually don’t like) a nice counterweight. Still, not one of my favourites.

Det här var en oväntat komplex öl, smaken och ölen är tjusigt balanserad med toner av rostad malt, choklad och äpple. Kroppen var stabil och upplevelsen var positiv, mycket tack vare ölens komplexitet.

Unique porter-style dark beer from 3 Fonteinen since 2010. And where Armand Debelder is, lambic is never far away: this black roasted beer is partially fermented with a wild lambic yeast. The result introduces a Brett aroma and taste to a black beer - which is probably close to what a historical, 18th century porter tasted like. Light beige, creamy head, blackish colour with wine red glow; aroma of raisins, dates, coffee, bitter chocolate, dry sherry, leather, wet hay, caramel. Rich malty taste with some wild yeast leatheriness and funkiness, high drinkability, drying effect of the wild yeast especially noticeable in the finish, where it is paired with a coffee- and chocolate-like roasted bitterness. Interesting, but I can imagine this will not be to anyone’s liking.
