3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 maneliquor (1185) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUL 27, 2011
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours copper with a small white head. Aroma is caramel and toffee malts and slight citrus. Predominately malts coming through in the taste with citrus cutting through the middle. Nice enough pale, not as hoppy as I was expecting for an APA

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 highlandlad (1325) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - FEB 10, 2011
An above-average APA from one of the better local brewers. Doesn’t bear comparison to the best of the west coast APAs after which it’s fashioned but it’s superior to most of the flabby pale ales on local shelves. Looks very much as it oughtta, but the aroma is short on hop character. There’s melon and faint passionfruit but the malts command more attention than the style warrants. Chewy toffee notes in the mouth and a nice herbal note in the swallow. Some nice clean piney characters - just wish it packed a few more IBUs. Solid. (330ml bottle)
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 GT2 (3942) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 17, 2010
330mL. Pours a clear amber to orange with a healthy, off-white head with excellent retention and good lace. Nose is fresh citrus, zest, dried pineapple, dried papaya, coconut. Taste is fruity, dry, slightly bland, earthy bitter, newspaper and cardboard.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 floydian1 (534) - FNQ, AUSTRALIA - JUL 15, 2010
330ml bottle. Hazy amber body with a medium dense lasting white head. Lots of fruity hops on the nose with passionfruit, grapefruit, oranges, melon and pine-needles. Bittersweet malt backbone with a very satisfying dry bitter hop finish. Medium bodied with a spritely mouthfeel. Excellent local APA.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Maris (540) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - MAY 24, 2010
From a 330ml bottle on 24/5/2010. Has quite a powerful fruity, floral nose. The flavour is a bit more subdued - it has a pleasant fruity sweetness, and a moderate but lasting hop finish, .which almost tastes a little wine like. A solid, if not spectacular, APA
