COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
3 Ravens 55 is an American style Pale Ale, first brewed on our 5th Birthday. Five assertive hops meet a blend of barley, corn, wheat oats and rye. Floral aromatics lead to a structured maltiness and clean finish. Traditional bottle conditioning naturally carbonates this beer and helps to its complexity.Engineered by hand, this beer is the product of a craft brewing process in which traditional methods meet exacting standards. We take care to emphasize quality of quantity and to use only the finest natural ingredients.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2009 Bottle (330ml). Poured a nice gold colour. Aroma of grains, malt, and a little citrus. Not as much as I hoped from an APA. Palate a little on the thin side, with low carbonation. Flavours of stonefruit, lemons, little bit of malt (not enough of a malt flavour for me). Where are the hops? It’s an easy quaffer, but I want more bang for my buck.

Kinda malty, very little hop character, maybe a little citrus. Medium carbonation. Light on the bitterness. Not very exciting.

Poured with a thick fluffy/foamy off white head that retained a little while then collapsed fairly fast. Left a translucent to clody brown amber liquid with a few suspended sediment particles. Initally foamy lacing but then none. Moderate to high carbonation. Aroma of hops with a trace of honey. Taste initally with a bit of sweetness but this followed by hops with a trace of spice/pepper. Medium body. A long dry spicy finish.

Again this is a good beer, nothing special though. Has some nice hop character in the aroma and on the palate, very easy drinking.

This APA bordering on an IPA has an aroma of grapefruit, tangerine and popcorn with a little honey riding shotgun. It’s a lovely mélange of flavours. The taste is a little more basic, with a strong grapefruit flavour coming through on a slightly thin palate. A very pleasant Summer beer.

Bottle. A great hop aroma, dark orange in colour, a good hop aftertaste, a well balanced malt taste.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours copper with a small white head. Aroma is caramel and toffee malts and slight citrus. Predominately malts coming through in the taste with citrus cutting through the middle. Nice enough pale, not as hoppy as I was expecting for an APA

An above-average APA from one of the better local brewers. Doesn’t bear comparison to the best of the west coast APAs after which it’s fashioned but it’s superior to most of the flabby pale ales on local shelves. Looks very much as it oughtta, but the aroma is short on hop character. There’s melon and faint passionfruit but the malts command more attention than the style warrants. Chewy toffee notes in the mouth and a nice herbal note in the swallow. Some nice clean piney characters - just wish it packed a few more IBUs. Solid. (330ml bottle)

330mL. Pours a clear amber to orange with a healthy, off-white head with excellent retention and good lace. Nose is fresh citrus, zest, dried pineapple, dried papaya, coconut. Taste is fruity, dry, slightly bland, earthy bitter, newspaper and cardboard.

Murky amber colour with great head and lacing. Sweet fruit malt hop aroma. Sweet hop spice malt flavour with fruit and flowers. Fizzy palate.
