Clear medium to dark amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, plastic smoke. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, caramel, plastic smoke. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110918]

Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Clear amber/red - white head. Smokey, wet towel, bitterness, nice nutty, ok bitterness, burned wood, phenolic, oakey, caramel.

(Sample at Papsø’s) Pours a clear dark amber with little off-white head and lace. The aroma is mostly oak and something undefinable that is probably the smoke. Full-bodied, medium carbonation, oily texture and a dry finish. The taste is malty with some tart, vinous notes. Interesting beer.

Bottle at Papsø. Clear red coloured with a huge beige head. Fruity aroma of smoke and burnt woood. Fruity flavour of smoke, burnt wood and oak. Smoked finish.

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is fruity and phenolic. Bitter, fruity, phenolic and mild meaty smoked on the back of the tongue. Slowly increasing smoked flavoured. Dry and malty finish.

Bottled. A brown beer with a bit of sediment floating around under a tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel, alcohol, and some roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol, as well as a bit of brettanomyces, leading to a tart finish.

Medium body, sweet caramel and nuts with a pleasant oaky note while the smoke is extremely downplayed. A slight tartness. A little roast and ashes. But interesting indeed. 180911

Bottle 750ml. Nicely aged! Aromas of smoke, apple, oak, and dark fruit. Taste is sweet, with a hint of sourness, and light bitterness. Palate is velvety, with a medium-to-full body. Dark brown, with a frothy head.
