3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mkel07 (1804) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JAN 1, 2012
500ml bottle. This is a hazy but bright orange colour when poured into the glass. The head starts off quite big and snow white but you take your eyes off it and it vanishes leaving a rather flat looking beer. In the nose there is some fruitiness, orange peel maybe and also a bit of grain but nothing too out there. Quite full in the mouth and there is more flavour there than I anticpated which was a nice surprise. It finishes long and dry on the palate. I am not sure if this is in the true munich helles style as it has a little too much colour and is a bit too sweet. Not bad all the same.

Pours pale amber with a small head.
Nose shows sweet light malt with cardboard and vegetal characters along with some soft banana.
More of the same in the way of flavours, but with some cereal notes and less vegetal character.
Very easy drinking stuff, some interesting flavours too.

On tap at the Courthouse. Great, malt-driven lager. Aromas of biscuit, orange, and vanilla. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a frothy head.

Bottle. Hazy gold with a modest white head. Aroma of hay, bread, meadows, a little spice. Creamy mouthfeel. Taste is moderately sweet with restrained bitterness and a little lager sourness. Full of light bread and hay. Clean and fresh with a nice mouthfeel it ticks all the boxes for the sort of beer it is.
