vanvenlo (784), Glen Iris, Australia Jan 30, 2007 19 Jul 2006 - (Victorian Microbrewer’s Showcase) - Sweet light lolly, orange and some spice aroma. Cloudy yellow-light brown colour, poor head but good lacing. Big lolly fruit biscuit flavour, but not unpleaant although simple. Fruity wheat finish and thichish mouthfeel. I can’t put my finger on whether I damn or compliment this beer. Not a big white fan, but I guess I like this one.
Chrism86 (115), Melbourne, Australia Nov 20, 2008 Pours hazy, straw yellow with some orange highlights, substantial, snow white head. Aromas are dominated by orange and coriander. Palate is a mirror image of the nose. Orange and
coriander are in abundance with some bready malt (i find is common of 3 ravens) adding palate
weight and balance. Carbonation is lively, which serves to
lighten the palate and give perception of dry finish. Pretty straight forward, a bit too overt for mine. gam (618), brisbane, Australia Aug 12, 2008 Thin head on yellow pour good carbonastion .Aroma coriander orange peel(rich)spice.Flavourcoriander malt mild nutmeg comes in late then lingers.Bit watery raven very weak by taste, not crisp fairly dull,NO! sinkas (175), Perth/Fremantle, Australia Jul 4, 2008 640ML, Carlisle cellars.
dominant spicy notes on nose, smells OK, Awful sharp flavours, with no body or maltiness,
Drainpoured. MBison (445), Southern Highlands, Australia Jun 20, 2008 Bottle (330ml). Poured a muddy straw yellow with an average sized, rocky, off-white head which was mostly lasting. Strong notes of banana’s and cloves in the aroma with yeasty malts, creamy pears, lemon zest, mandarin and some cinnamon. Flavor was of sweet bready malts with some grassy hops (mild), dried banana’s, pears, lemon zest, mandarin and some spices in the finish (cloves, cinnamon, coriander). Light to medium bodied with lively carbonation, a dry/creamy mouthfeel and a good finish. UnholyBrewing (322), Melbourne, Australia Jun 1, 2008 Updated: Jun 23, 2008...draft at the Melbourne microbrew showcase. I want to find it in the bottle, but can’t. I was very pleased with this beer. Very true to the style, which is rare for australian brewers. Citrus, clove, and corriander notes are there, the perfect blend. Thirst quenching, flavorful, carbonation was right, but head faded quickly. I will keep looking for this, you should try it.
RR: Great beer, you know it is 3 ravens as soon as you crack the bottle. I had it in the bottle this time, and was making black and tans with it and the black, try it.
