3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 harrisoni (10909) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JUL 6, 2007
Cask handpull at County Hotel, Ashford JDW. Copper colour with lasting beige head. Creamy head. Citrus, hoppy aroma, little bit more intense than most English beers. Standard bitter in mouth, some malts, then an intense tight acidic grapefruit finish. Acids are puckering and drying. The brewer really has thrown a whole load of hops at this. Startling. Needs more balance with malt structure. Hops are intense but too tight and a tad metallic. Good enough for a second pint though.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 hughie (3994) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 16, 2007
Cask at Wetherspoons, Milton Keynes. Amber with an off white head. Hoppy aroma and a spicy fruit flavour. The first taste is particularly inviting. Later impression is that this is a decent, straightforward beer with not much complexity beyond a sharply bitter finish. But it’s worth a try.

A Mes rate:
Cask at Baker Street ’Spoons. Copper colour with a thin tan head. Aromatic hoppy nose. Not sure what is going wrong in the flavour but I think a bit of the Mersey got in there. Not great by any means.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rune (6120) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 14, 2006
Half pint on gravity. Amber in colour. Low level of foam. Inviting citrus aroma. Refreshing fruitiness - lemon and oranges - and hoppy flavour. Additional notes of biscuit and caramel. Some hoppy bitter in a rather dry ending. Quite interesting brew (Ipswich Beer Festival, 22.09.2006).
