leaparsons (3878), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Jun 22, 2008 Bottle. Golden brown with a small off-white head. Aromas are nutty with caramel. Milk chocolate and berries. Clear medium amber orange color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted, light hoppy, grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. (Malt bitter) Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. (180108) anders37 (2563), Malmö, Sweden Jan 6, 2008 Cask @ The Sir John Oldcastle, JDW, Farringdon. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with small white head. Fruity malty and slightly hoppy aroma. Fruity hoppy and slightly bitter flavor. Sweetish malty hoppy finish, with a slightly bitter aftertaste. harrisoni (5109), Ashford, Kent, England Jul 6, 2007 Cask handpull at County Hotel, Ashford JDW. Copper colour with lasting beige head. Creamy head. Citrus, hoppy aroma, little bit more intense than most English beers. Standard bitter in mouth, some malts, then an intense tight acidic grapefruit finish. Acids are puckering and drying. The brewer really has thrown a whole load of hops at this. Startling. Needs more balance with malt structure. Hops are intense but too tight and a tad metallic. Good enough for a second pint though.
