A Mes rate: Cask at Bar Fringe, Manchester. Chestnut brown colour. Slightly tart fruity notes and some tarry maltyness. A little liquorice in there too. For me it just didnt balance out quite right.

Bottle. Dark brown/red with a small head. aromas are chocolate malts with herbal notes and some liquorice. Some vegetable notes. Flavours are sweet molasses with chocolate and coffee. Yeasty and spritzy with hints of salt. Metallic, herbal and dry on the finish.

Cask @ Pembury fest. Deep amber with a thin off white head. Dark fruit, toffee and sweet toasty malt. A little old ale tartness but nothing special.

Aug 07 Cask conditioned @ Old Silk Mill, Derby. Roasty toasty toffee with mild hoppy finish. Pleasant enough at first but a bit much after a pint.
