Fin (2454), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Jan 20, 2008 Cask at The National Winter Ales Festival, Manchester 18-01-07 Pours very dark brown with a fruity spicy aroma. Plenty of fruits (as one might expect) in the flavour, and quite stewed as well. A surprisingly pushy bitterness with is followed by a nice ready brek style warming as this slowly slips down, also noticing a nice tanginess as I get further into this beer. Mmmhh quite decent. cgarvieuk (2614), Edinburgh, Scotland Mar 2, 2007 Updated: Mar 1, 2008Cask at Manchester winter festival 07 Black, with strong tangy fruit nose, rich sweet malts with a syrupy figg and date tones with a full mouth feel. 4.5
TK 2 manchester winter festival 08, This year it is pretty much the same, and got better as you got into it, but it started with a tinge of sourness i dont remember (3.8)
Bottle at home ... Fruit and spice aromas. Dark coloured very strong in alcohol and fruity with a spicy cinnamon flavour. Slightly bitter finish. MesandSim (4623), Highgate, Greater London, England Dec 31, 2006 A Mes rate: Cask at Cheadle Hulme JDW. Subtle nose with cinnamon and nutmeg. Dark ruby brown appearance with a decent well behaved off white head. Flavour is more cinnamon and spice with some medicine type notes. A little cherry too. Alcohol is fairly apparent but not too overpowering. Bitter finish that is a little strange. Can’t quite put my finger on it.
