Bottle @ Richard’s Tasting. Dark brown pour with a khaki head. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, and cocoa. Some ash, coffee, and a hint of graham cracker sweetness. Palate is bitter roasted malt and coffee forward. Ash, light sweetness of graham cracker, and some dark chocolate. A weird peppery note on the finish. Not bad, but not a very good Dunkelweizen.

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of cocoa, wheat, roastiness and light coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, roastiness, wheat and light vanilla with a smooth lingering cocoa finish.

Pretty mundane beer here. Chocolate flavor.mostly. the mouthfeel is thin and watery.

Bottle. Banana and chocolate malt aroma - hint of charcoal. Very dark brown with moderate head. Charcoal, dark chocolate, and roasted wheat malt flavor. Mildly bitter herbal finish. A nice beer but tastes more like a schwarzbier/stout than a dunkelweizen - intensity of the malt covers up any phenols that might be present.

On tap @ the Über Tap Room in the Wisconsin Cheese Shop, Milwaukee. Deep brown with mahogany highlights. Dusty roasty aroma,light mouthfeel, with the dark malts totally overwhelming any wheat traits. This drinks more like a light stout.

Bottle. Very dark brown - cola pour with a small rocky head. Cold press coffee and dark chocolate on the nose. Taste is semi-sweet, not overly bitter but a touch of roasty bitter. Pretty darn good.

On tap at c.1880. Poured very deep brown with a creamy, well-retained khaki head. The aroma picked up a nice blend of roasted black and chocolatey malts paired with some toasted wheat and grains.. well-presented. The flavor found well-roasted black malt and coffee notes at the core, with lightly tangy wheat, ripe banana, and cloves laced throughout.. prickly carbonation joined in on the finish. Medium-ish bodied and dry on the palate.. smooth feel across the middle.. overall a very good drinker.

Tap at Old Fashioned. Opaque brown-black body. Thin, oily head. Sugary sweet chocolate aroma. Pretty insipid, amateur offering. Chocolate malt overload on top of a watery, bland body. Almost and extract feel, overly sweet and underattenuated. One-dimensional, dirinkable, but sub par. Schwarz-Dunkel..not much wheat.

Chocolate powder, roast aroma.
Taste is sweet, chocolate malt, cream.

Bottle. Pours deep dark mahogany, small tan head, dissipates fairly quickly leaving decent residual and good lacing. Aroma is roasty, ashtray, a bit smokey, wheat. Flavor is medium sweet, just a bit of bitterness, fairly low acidity, rich roasty flavor, toasted dark bread, a bit of tobacco. Medium body, silky mouthfeel. Very good.
