Served a tad too cold with a nice, off-white, foamy, head that slowly settled and good lacing. Color is a clear, slightly pale yellow with loads of bubble trails. Aroma is heavy wheat, malt, hint of spice and fruit. Flavor is like nose, good balance between the 3 major taste components of sweet, bitter, and carbonic tang. Both smell and taste aren’t so much Belgian Wit as half-way between Wit and American Wheat; the Belgian characteristics are there but muted. Body is good, would be better if a little warmer; carbonation good. Finish is like flavor, short in length, and drinkable.

Bottled. Poured clear, lighter orangey-golden with a short, uniform whitish head. The aroma picked up sweet orange meat and wheaty notes with tart orange peel and odd, dank herbal notes accenting.. not that enticing. The flavor found wheat and a little honey at the core with tangy orange peel, cloves, and a touch of white pepper around.. finished with grainy sugars and residual wheat sharpness. Light-bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. too sharp at times, and it never really got its flow going.

3 Sheeps seems to be a newer Wisconsin craft brew on the market. Based in Sheboygan, I see they are slowly starting to make their way across the state in various places. There doesn’t seem to be all that much hype about the beer so far, so I am expecting this to fairly average. It pours a clear, dark yellow color with a foamy, beige head. The scent is fairly basic with mostly malts with slight hints of citrus. The aroma is fairly weak almost to the point of being non-existent. I sure hope this doesn’t translate over into the taste. Well at least the taste isn’t bad, but it’s not anything fantastic either. The texture is pretty thin and a flavor is also weak. You do get some nice grain flavors mixed with some tropical fruit. Some bready yeast tones are present as well. Gradually the taste does grow on you but I’m not sure if this is even any better than Blue Moon. While it is drinkable, they really could take this one back to the drawing board as well. It’s always awesome to find a new beer from a Wisconsin brewery that I have yet to have tried. But, it’s not awesome when that beer is just kind of average. 3 Sheeps is new and perhaps they will develop some delicious brews down the road. I’m definitely willing to re-visit their offerings; I just hope they improve on the taste a little. –Chris Lemke of WisconsinBrewReview.com

Weak and watery. However refreshing I was expecting more from this beer and feel I could find the same qualities elsewhere for less $.

Bottle - Clear golden pour with a thin white head. Nose is fruity, syrupy canned tropical fruit with the lightest of coriander notes and lots of wheat. Taste has that same canned tropical fruit or canned pears note, with a decent amount of wheat and subtle spicing. Medium bodied and slick in the mouth with medium carbonation. The flavors aren’t bold enough to be a decadent treat, and not dry or crisp enough to be a session beer. Bummer considering it still has a lot of flavor for 4.2%.

Tap. Yellow pour with white head and a lot of lacing. Almost a wine smell to it. Very fruity flavor with a smooth finish. Easy drinking. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light amber with white head. Musty wheat with light spice and grassy hops. Light earthy bitterness and wheat malt. A bit watery, but refreshing.

On tap at Hops Haven. Pale straw yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is soapy and grainy with mild lemon, milder citrus and faint coriander. Taste of lemon, coriander, yeast. Not much going on here.

On draught at the former Hops Haven location, pours a semi-clear golden straw colored brew with a fast disappearing white film top that dissipates clean. Aroma of light hefe yeast, golden grain malt, a faint coriander/tangerine and minimal hop presence. Taste is light bodied, some mild golden grain malt and very faint coriander. Finish is crisp, extremely low bodied with a short lived coriander and golden grain malt flavor that finishes clean with virtually no aftertaste. Probably the lightest Belgian witbiers I’ve tried.
