Bomber from Sonoma Cellars in Oconomowoc. Pours a clear coppery-orange with an off-white head. Nice streaks of lace. Aroma has fresh fruit, sweet stone fruits (mangoes, peaches) and citrus. Also some oak-y and some caramel, with alcohol show up later in the glass. Taste is of sweet fruits, grapefruit, some sprucy pine and some resin. With a solid malt backbone and some oaky alcohol presence. Medium bodied and very sticky. Finishes more bitter than sweet on the bitter to sweet scale, with a tangy oak presence. Not typically a fan of barreling IPAs, this one is solid and tasty. 14.3

A really lightly hopped ipa with a slight oak flavor tinge. Not very bitter or citruscy. I really like some of their other beers and this one does not disappoint. Had in a bomber at home. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2014 Beautiful burnt orange with off-white head. Nose of catty/dank pine with caramel malt and candy with faint oak. Flavor is fairly oak forward followed by pine/faint grapefruit and a light caramel malt backing. Trailing tanins and hops. Moderately dry. Pretty nice overall, dialing back the oak would even this one out a bit, but still a pretty good offering.

Draft at Craftsman Table & Tap. Pours bright orange, a little hazy. Appetizing meringue-like head. Nose is nectarine, passion fruit, caramel, a little wood. Full mouthfeel, a little mango, sweet citrus. Hint of vanilla. Very nicely done.

Bomber. Poured clear, lighter orange with a short, tight-bubbled white head. The aroma picked up juicy apricot and mango hops plus oak over sweet caramel.. the hops and oak were balanced very well with each other. The flavor found bitter toasted oak and sharp piney hops on the tip of the tongue.. sweet caramel and biscuity malts followed for support.. transitions weren’t great between the smooth middle and bitter edges.. finished sharp and a bit grainy with lots of oak and residual bitterness. Medium-bodied with moderate-plus carbonation.. sharp and unpleasant in several places.. OK overall, but rough around the edges and through the transitions.

Hoppy citrus, but also sweet malt aroma. Taste is pretty hoppy, mid way thru there is some sweet malt but quickly turns back to hops. Crisp, citrus, bitter finish.

Pours an unclear orange amber. Medium to large, excellent frothy creamy white head, partially lasting with excellent lace. Aroma is balanced moderate hoppy and malty. Fruity. Citrus, grapefruit, caramel. Medium body. Crisp and refreshing. Solid bitterness but not overly bitter. Piney bitter. Grapefruit rind. Moderate + sweetness to balance. Fair dryness. Woody. Pretty smooth. Great drinkability. Super tasty

UPDATED: APR 29, 2014 Had a bomber of this last week. I thought this was a great beer. Love the added complexity the oak added to the IPA. I thought it was very similar to Really Cool Waterslide. Slightly better. My only complain is the cost. At $9 a bomber, I’d rather just spend the $8 and get a 6 pack of Waterslide. I might buy again. The price is holding me back though. EDIT: Tried this on tap, and it was even better. Still think the bomber is over priced, but for $4 on tap, I could not go wrong. So much more citrus taste. The smell was so strong, people could smell oranges across the table. On tap, this beer is even better.
