Remember the first time you went left when logic and everyone else told you to go right? When you looked down the road that would safely take you to exactly the same place it always did, and you chose another path? That’s what Really Cool Waterslides is all about: choosing a dream. Looking uncertainty in the eye and whispering menacingly, “Let’s dance.”

Bottle @ Richard’s Tasting. Orange pour with an off-white head. Floral, spicy, and citrusy hop notes. Some bread, toast, and a bit of lemon peel. Mostly orange zest. Flavor is a touch soapy and sweet. Light bitterness of citrus peel and pine. Floral and spicy notes throughout. Lots of biscuit and bread. Lemony finish.

A hazed golden IPA with a thick creamy mocha head. In aroma, a sweet fruity caramel malt with pungent British hops, vinous notes, butterscotch. In mouth, a sweet butterscotch malt with grassy citrus hops, not bad. On tap at Istmus Beer and Cheese Fest, Jan 19 2012.

I actually liked this one. Not up there on the hop scale but pleasant and done with thought.

On tap at Milwaukee Brewfest. Poured medium golden with a well-retained off-white head. The aroma picked up pine and floral hops over sweet caramel.. OK balance to it. The flavor found pale, bready, and light caramel malts at the core, with spicy pine, grapefruit, and black pepper bitterness around.. tasty stuff. Medium-bodied and a touch grainy on the palate.. bitter and warm, but it retained its balance.. I’d have another.

On tap @ Saz’s State House, Milwaukee. Light amber, thick white crown. Sweet toffee malts combine nicely with citrus & pine hoppiness. Creamy mouthfeel. Long bitter finish. I liked it.

Sampled on draught at the former Hops Haven location in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden amber colored brew with a fast disappearing off-white head that dissipates nearly clean with some minimal lacing. Aroma of citrusy West Coast three C’s (Cascade, Centennial, Citra) hops, a hint of caramel malt and some light grass. Taste is medium bodied, plenty of citrus zest and piney hops with a touch of grapefruit. Finish is semi-dry, lingering bitterness of grapefruit, floral and tropical fruits. Though it is a tad on the light side in body it is still a solid IPA throughout.

12oz bottle. Hazy orange-gold body. Steady, creamy off-white head. Cool, sugar edged crisp hop aroma. Sort of one-dimensional, but has an enjoyable enough hop tone. Mediocre product, sort of offensive and inauthentic to experienced drinkers. Not bad, just really mediocre.

Courtesy of Skyview. Copper color with a large head. Soapy pine aroma. Light citrus flavor. Rough graininess. Moderate to light bitterness.

Location: Bottle at the Publican, 7/2/14

Aroma: The nose is citrus and floral hops with some caramel malt backing
Appearance: Pours a hazed amberish color with a smallish off-white head and decent lace
Flavor: The taste is medium-plus bitter, nice hoppiness, and a solid malt backbone
Palate: The body is medium, it has a pretty solid mouthfeel, and a mid-dry finish
Overall Impression: This one was a nice, enjoyable, plenty drinkable IPA. It worked nicely and paired nicely with the food. Good beer.
